The Real Story Of The ‘Miracle’ Saibaba Statue In Lower Hutt

The ‘emergence’ of a statute of Shirdi Sai Baba recently in Lower Hutt fuelled rumours and speculation, with varied versions appearing in the media.

I accompanied Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan of NZ Inc Vice-President Thulasi Krishna and Saikrishna Tridandapani to Wellington last week to ascertain the facts.

We met the owner of the property where the statue was reportedly found along with our Wellington based members Srinivas Gazula and Dharmesh Patel.

John Peters Presley (of Madhya Pradesh, India) and his wife Charlene own six acres of land in Wainuiomata. They constructed a house two years ago and planned to subdivide the balance land for residential purpose.

There was a spot next his house with a little water, frequented by wild birds and his domestic sheep. In September last year, Their daughter suggested that the pond be dug deeper to provide additional quantity of water.

It was while digging that Mr Presley found the Statue of Baba in His classic sitting posture. He thought he had found a Maori artefact but later learnt of Baba.

He was a devout Christian but decided to keep the Statue inside his house. As the news spread, streams of devotees of Baba began to visit the house.

Many of them offered money for the Statue but Mr Presley decided to return it to the place where it was discovered but secured on a wooden platform.

Following discussions, Pravin Gandhi, Karthik Badiyani, Ram Chander, Mr Patel and others took the initiative to form the Shirdi Saibaba Holy Land Trust, with Mr and Mrs Peters as the main trustees.

We were told that the Trust would consider plans to construct a Temple but issues relating to purchase of the land by the Trust, Resource Consent, mobilising funds and other issues are still under discussion.

I will keep our members and Indian Newslink readers informed of the developments as they come to hand.

Meanwhile, visitors to Wellington can have Dharshan of Jala Saibaba (Water Saibaba) at 195, Wise Road, Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt.

This is the first programme of the new organisation and we are hopeful of achieving our main objective of constructing a Temple for Sai Baba with the help and support of donors and the public,” he said.

Shirdi Sai Baba Statue Found Underground In Wellington, New Zealand

A find of a Shirdi Sai Baba by John Peters on his property at 195 Wise street Wainuiomata has delighted a Wellington family. The two-foot statue was found on April 15th 2010.

“Baba proved again that he is omni present,” Bhaskar Reddy (secretary of Shri Shirdi Sai Sansthan of New Zealand) said.

Water has erupted from the spot where the statue was found and has now become a small pond. Srinivas Gajula wrote in an email to Sansthan members.

“When the digger was digging he found a solid object and he stopped digging and he lifted the statue from 6- 7 feet under the ground. The developer stooped the digging and cleaned the statue and he was not sure what it was. The developer is an Indian Christian. He called a Hindu priest to identify the deity,” Gajula said.

“We are still trying to get hold off the developer to find some more details . . . apparently the developer wants to leave that particular spot and redevelop the other area. Water came from the place where the digger found the statue and it became a small pond now. Developer put the statue on a small wooden pallet and it is floating in the water now.”

Reddy said: The Sansthan organised two aarthis on 4th July 09 at Wellington and presented 30 bhajan books. Ever since, the families of our members in Welligton – Srinivas Gajula and Dharmesh Patel were conducting bhajans and Shej aarthi every Saturday. It’s amazing that a developer found a statue of Shirdi Saibaba ( about 2 ft ) while developing his 10 acres land. Blessed are Srinivas, Dharmesh, people of Wellington and people of New Zealand.

“This is a good omen and building a temple for our beloved Guru in Auckland is not too far.”

Sathya Saibaba Miracle -The Interchanged Letters

Sathya Saibaba Miracle -The Interchanged Letters

The grace of Sathya Sai Baba works for different people in different ways.

A chambal decoit and a spiritual aspirant sat next to each other awaiting Sathya Sai Baba’s blessings during the evening darshan.

When Baba came close to them, the dacoit handed over a letter to Him which He threw it at the spiritual aspirant. When the aspirant gave his letter to Baba, Baba just looked at the envelope and threw it at the dacoit. The letters were thus interchanged.

After Sathya Sai Baba’s departure, a quarrel brewed between the dacoit and the aspirant. The dacoit demanded his letter back from the aspirant, while the latter refused saying that it was Baba’s prasad for him. Soon a group gathered around the two. The other devotees however intervened and passified the dacoit. An old devotee opened the two letters. The letter given to the dacoit which was actually the spiritual aspirant’s contained a five hundred rupees note and the other which which was given to the sadhaka (which was the dacoit’s original letter) contained a plain paper in which he (dacoit) had written a petition on. The letters on the letter had vanished!

The next day when Sathya Sai Baba came for darshan, He addressed both the dacoit and the aspirant. He told the dacoit, “You had faith in me that you wrote down all your sins in a sheet of paper seeking forgiveness from me. You had written that if I accepted the letter, you would take it as I have forgiven you. That is why the paper that you gave has now come back to you after this quarrel as a plain sheet sans the writing. This means that I have accepted your sins and have forgiven you!”

Satya SaiBaba then looked at the spiritual aspirant and said, “You were here for 7 days, waiting for my darshan. Your money is now exhausted. You had mentioned it in your letter. I have given you 500 rupees for your travel and to fill your stomach on the way!”

Both the devotees fell at Baba’s feet with gratitude.

A Miraculous Cure, Heart Surgery Cancelled!

A Miraculous Cure, Heart Surgery Cancelled!

Sathya Saibaba, the Master of miracles cancels an ardent devotee’s heart surgery.

An old lady from Madras once had a sharp pain in her chest. Her husband rushed to their family doctor, who in turn referred them to a heart surgeon. The lady was put to a through test. To the shock of her husband and her, the doctor revealed that there appeared three blockages in her heart. The doctor also suggested that an immediate heart operation has to be done. The lady however refused to undergo the operation without the consent of the Lord of her heart, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. She also ignored the medicines prescribed for the pain.

The Lord is the only succor for a lost heart. That night, the lady had a wonderous dream where Sathya Saibaba took a piece of paper, drew a heart and crossed it. The lady woke up with tears of ecstasy, “Baba I know not the significance of the dream, but I am aware that my heart problem has been taken care of!”

A miraculous cure just came about naturally! Can there be a dearth of miracles by Sathya Sai Baba in the devotees’ lives?

The next day, the elderly couple visited the doctor again and the lady went through the same tests, a second time. To the utter astonishment of everyone, the results simply did not show any trait of a heart ailment. The blocks were absent and hence the heart surgery was ruled out! The husband related to the doctor, the wonderful dream that his wife had the previous night. He however wanted to make sure about the medicines that she had to take for her heart condition to be stable. When the prescription was produced, the doctor just crossed it exactly the way Satya Sai Baba had done in the dream! Surging gratitude from the heart flowed down as tears on the cheeks of the devotee!

A miraculous cure just came about naturally!

Can there be a dearth of miracles by Sathya Sai Baba in the devotees’ lives?

Sathya Sai Baba, Bill Aitken And The Vibuthi Covered Pick

Sathya Sai Baba

Sathya Sai Baba, Bill Aitken And The Vibuthi Covered Pick

On 14th June 1980 I was lucky enough to be present in a house visited by Sathya Sai Baba in New Delhi after His Divine visit to Kashmir. I was preparing to go on a pilgrimage to the Nanda Devi Sanctuary, one of the most difficult treks in the Himalayas. I took my high altitude equipment with me, including ropes, pitons (rock clamps) and my trusted ice-axe, an indispensable tool for negotiating precipitous icy terrain in the high mountains.

Sathya Sai Baba graciously asked after my welfare and I said I would like Him to bless my adventure. My hostess suggested I give Baba my ice-axe to bless. He smiled, took it and began to ask some searching questions about the composition of the steel used in its making. His students knew more about this than I did. Suddenly He produced Vibhuti from thin air (without the usual circular movements I had seen in public) and proceeded to rub it with great intensity on one side, the pick side, of the ice-axe only. He didn’t put any Vibhuti on the other parts. Then with an air of finality He said, “You will be successful,” and handed back the ice-axe.

I do not know what constitutes a miracle but I do know that a month later, on 26th July, while climbing into the Sanctuary, the pick of the ice-axe saved my life.

Traversing some tricky wet slabs of rockcut croppings above the Rishi Ganga gorge at Rhamani I was aided by two excellent Garhwali porters. They were so skillful and daring that they disdained to use any rope and would cross the wet slabs sloping out over the edge of the gorge in their bare feet. They would go ahead fixing rope, then sit on their haunches and wait for me with all my climbing regalia to haul myself up.

We began up a narrow earth gully which was particularly slippery and treacherous. There were no reliable footholds anywhere and we had to make them as we went. I looked back into the yawning chasm that led a thousand feet straight down into the huge gorge carved out by the rushing river below.

I kicked a toehold in the damp earth and reaching up whacked the pick of the ice-axe into the earth above. To my dismay the six inch pick clanged against rock after it had gone in only three inches, not enough to hold much weight. At the same moment the earth under my toehold crumbled away and I felt myself sinking gently with the earth until I was dangling above the gorge supported only by the Vibhuti covered pick. For the agonising moment my full weight came on the axe; my thoughts were more of self disgust at my incompetence than fear of hurtling a thousand feet to certain death.

Somehow that three inches of steel didn’t slice through the soft earth but held me long enough for the porters to back down and grab me. After a few more close shaves we were successful and got to our destination, the Nanda Devi Sanctuary, reaching that holy place on Gurupurnima. There were other hair raising incidents on our return trip, but thanks to Baba’s Divine Grace, we came through all right and I am alive today to narrate this story.

How Sathya Sai Baba Cured A Cancer Patient

How Sathya Sai Baba Cured A Cancer Patient On 15th January 2009

The Following was Related by a very Dear Sai Brother V.Sarvothamudu from Hyderabad:

Dear all,

I would like to narrate an extraordinary incident that happened few days ago.

Brother B. Srinivas from Puttaparthy informed me that they have identified a deserving case to be taken up for medical treatment for cancer, at Hyderabad. One Smt. Narasamma aged nearly 70, a resident of Venkatareddy palli near penukonda, was certified by the doctors (after conducting the necessary tests) at Anantapur that she was suffering with Uterus cancer and to be sent for treatment to the Indo American cancer Hospital Hyderabad.

Immediately Brother BS called up and said that, they are sending her with three of her family members, by the night train and they would be at Hyderabad by 5 A.M on Saturday, the 9th of Jan. 2009. He wanted me to take care take care of their stay arrangements at Hyderabad and wanted me to show her at Indo American Cancer Hospital for treatment. As she had the coverage under Arogyasree of A.P. State medical Scheme, there was no necessity of spending any amount either for the tests or for the proposed treatment.

The next day four of them have landed in the morning and I arranged their stay at Hotel Nataraj, which is near Kacheguda station. Brother Indraneil Benerjee, who traveled along with coordinated in bringing them to the hotel and leaving them. Next day being Sunday, I could not arrange for the check up treatment.

In the meantime, with the permission of the competent authorities at Sivam, I shifted her from the Hotel accommodation to the Premises of Sivam, as I felt that, she would have the divine vibrations, which may give her some positive vibrations for getting relieved of the pain, which she was suffering.

On Monday morning, she was taken to the Hospital for treatment. Dr. Narsimham garu of Puttaparthy has helped us by contacting the known doctors over there and directed us to meet them for treatment. On 12th Morning, tests were conducted for the patient and the lady doctor there expressed with Mr. Raghunath, the son of Smt. Narsamma, that her condition is very bad and she doen’t want it to be disclosed to the patient, as she may get disturbed mentally. In fact Mr. Raghu shared this information with me and felt very sad. Doctors have asked Mr. Raghunath to come for the reports on the next working day, i.e. on 15th of Jan 2009, as Bogi and Sankranthi festivals have fallen on 13th and 14th of January 2009.

In the meanwhile, they have stayed in Sivam and attended the special programmes too. On 13th night Smt. Narsamma had a dream at about 4A.M. in the morning, and she said Bhagavan appeared to her and applied vibhuti on her stomach and rubbed it with force. Later Swami assured to take care of her. She had narrated this to me when I went to visit them that night.

Because I had heard the doctors version through her son the before day, I half heartedly consoled her, saying nothing would happen as Bhagavan has assured and treated her in His divine way. At that point of time, I never knew that this is going to be a reality. In fact this I shared with my brother and some of my collogues that her condition as per doctor is critical and I only pray Bhagavan to make her dream come true. Thursday when the reports have come, to our utter disbelief, doctors have confirmed that the reports have not revealed any malignancy. However they wanted the patient to undergo biopsy too to rule out even an iota of doubt. Hence, on Saturday, ie 17 Jan we took her again to the Hospital and got her biopsy done as per the doctor’s advice. Now the faith on the divine healing has increased in all of us to the extent of 90%, as Bhagavan always says, we are all doubting Thomases’.

This is the reason precisely, I waited till today for the biopsy reports too to come and after it is established once again that there is no problem of cancer, I am venturing to share with you the lovely Miracle of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, which has cancelled the Cancer of Smt. Narasamma, a humble devotee of the Lord.

In fact, the day they were leaving for their village on Saturday evening, I took two Photographs of Smt. Narasamma, which I attach for you to just see.

It has been our experience that whenever, His students have taken up an activity, His divine play was always there taking care with the love of thousand mothers.

JAI SAI RAM.
