Fill Every Moment With Quality

Fill Every Moment With Quality

In March this year I was privileged to be in the residence of Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba along with devotees. As we waited eagerly for the sudden flash of the Red Robe, He appeared beaming with a smile; his eyes flashed “Vidyullekha”. I waited in grateful expectancy for events to unfold themselves. In Baba’s Presence we learn the art of waiting for things to happen; anything unexpected can and will happen!

He suddenly turned towards me and said: “So, you have been transferred to Bangalore!” He was asking me this question after several months of my transfer even after I had first reported to Him before taking charge of my assignment! Like others I have also wondered why Baba the ‘Omnipresent’, the ‘Omniscient’, asks such questions and sometimes even feigns ignorance! I have found an answer which I believe is true.

Supposing Baba starts telling in front of everybody about us, what is in our mind and all our deeds and misdeeds, how many of us will have the courage to go to Him again? If He reveals all the time His Divinity and the attributes of “Omnipresence” few of us will dare go to him; the skin-deep facade of a devotee which we all maintain even in His Presence, is so fragile that it will be shattered and there will be no scope for improvement and the ‘transformation’ for which He has incarnated. So, in His mercy He gives us the impression that He is merely human and envelopes us with this Maya that is essential for our transformation which, unfortunately, is slow. ‘Kramakramena’, ‘gradually’ you will have to give up your undesirable habits, He says in His infinite patience!

Returning to the occasion when He asked me the question, I said, “Yes! Swami” and I thought that was the best occasion to volunteer additional information. “Swami I have only 71 days more before I retire.” I hoped that He would say, “Yes! Bangaroo! Time will pass and you will join Swami’s service.” He suddenly turned round and looked at me with those penetrating eyes. Out came the Sadguru’s mantra: “Whether it is 71 days, 71 hours, or 71 minutes or 71 seconds, quality is most important” and in His characteristic style. He turned round and conveyed the same message to all. “Quality is important, isn’t it?” He asked them, His way of confirmation.

This is Sathya Sai Baba’s method; He uses all occasions to convey important lessons of spirituality in daily living by such mantra. He aims the mantra not only at the direct recipient but also at others who might care to learn the lesson. One will miss the import of His statements if one thinks that it was meant only for the individual who happened to be the target..

Sathya Sai Baba shook me from my stupor. He has repeatedly said that all work is His; there is nothing like Sai service and government Service.. All that you do is for Sai only; in fact it is for yourself, for awakening the Sai within you. Not that I did not know these teachings of His. But again I had forgotten the lesson and the ever vigilant Sadguru had given me the lesson again at the right moment.

What a great formula for Ananda! What is important is not what happens after 71 days. What is important is that till that last second we do not forget that it is His work and that we should carry out the work assigned with the highest quality since it is His Worship through whatever He has assigned. “The past is beyond recovery. Those days are gone. The future you are not sure of. The given moment is NOW! Sanctify it with holy thoughts, words and deeds,” He has declared. “Quality” means sanctifying every moment with holy thoughts, words and deeds. “The most important thing in life is not doing what you like, but liking what you have to do”, Sathya Sai Baba has told us. These are the keys to spirituality in daily living.

Can we do this in the office, in the factory, in the kitchen or in any other vocation and avocation? Yes! We can; we should try to bear in mind some of the other mantras He has given us. We can sanctify our thoughts, words and deeds if they are not motivated by the six enemies which the ancients had correctly identified, Kama (passion), krodha (anger), lobha (greed) moha (attachment) , mada (pride), matsarya (envy). Difficult? Yes but not impossible if we try. Read any book on modern psychology; you will learn that all our diseases are due to these six enemies; our diseases are psychosomatic caused by these passions.

There is another aspect to filling every moment with “quality.” We must be fully involved in enjoying the quality of the work we do! That itself becomes “fulfillment” rather than the fruit of the act. In fact the real fruit of the act is the sweetness of the process. The game is more important than whether we win or lose! That is the real meaning of the Lord’s statement, “Work alone is thy concern; not the fruits thereof.”

Knowing that we are all forgetful I pray: “Baba give me the wisdom to remember your mantra when it is most needed and fill every moment with the highest quality, for which you have endowed me with abilities..”

Prayer To Our True Parent

Prayer To Our True Parent

Tvameva Ma Ta ca pita tvameva
Tvameva Bandhusca Sakha tvameva
Tvameva Vidya Dravinam tvameva
Tvameva sarvam mama Devadeva

You alone are the father
You alone are the mother
You alone are the true relative
You alone are the true friend
You alone are the source of true knowledge
You alone are the source of true wealth
You are my all, O! My God of all gods

Once Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was visiting the primary school at Puttaparthi. For reasons known to Him alone, he picked out a boy and asked him: “Who is your parents?” The boy perhaps thought that Swami might be the good and great God but not that good in English Grammar. So he began to answer: “My parents are …”, Swami stopped him short and again asked: “Who is your parents?” with added accent on the ‘is’. The boy was feeling uneasy and again began answering. “My parents are…” Again he was cut short. Then with great love Swami told him: “I am both your true mother and true father. Yet I am not two but one. So I have deliberately used ‘is’ instead of ‘are’!” How truly it is said in the Upanishad that gods are fond of telling things indirectly (Deva paroksha priya).

Bhagawan is also known to have often asked devotees, “Where do you come from?” repeatedly until the right answer “from You, Swami” is elicited. Indeed, Bhagawan is the true begetter and the so-called parents are only receivers, keepers and caretakers. This is brought out beautifully in the Tamil language by the word ‘petrore’ which means ‘receivers’. The sooner this is realised the better it will be, for the children as well as the parents of their physical bodies.

In the ancient scriptures it is advised that we must regard the mother and father as gods. Indeed Bhagawan often exhorts his students to do so. But He does not fail to point out to the elder devotees that they are not exactly good examples to their children: Either they set bad examples of behaviour without much regard for the five human values or they pamper them with too much (comforts etc) to live with and too little (aim or ideal) to live for. Parents must try to give more time, love and care to their children than money and material comforts and further they must not hesitate to chide and punish the children when they make mistakes. How well our true parent (God) does it! He calls us Dhunna pothus (Buffalos) and rowdies with a show of anger when we do things wrongly and bangaru’s (golden ones) when we repent and resolve to set right our courses. So in the present times it will be more appropriate to say: Regard God as your mother and father!

In the second line, the devotee calls the Lord as his true relative and friend. True in the sense that He will be with us through thick and thin and not only when we are fine and full of felicity; that he will not only praise our good deeds but also criticise freely when we go wrong. Anyone with enough experience of life will know the validity of this statement for human/physical relatives and friends are fair-weather mates more often than not. Inspired by Bhagawan’s example, so many devotees have showered affection and care on the people who come to our medical camps and other service camps that the people often exclaim: “Even our relatives could not have shown so much care and affectionate regard as you have done”.

In the third line of this prayer, it is proclaimed that the lord is the source of knowledge and wealth. We gain knowledge through direct observation and experience (pratyaksha) , through inference using our reasoning mind (Anumana) and through the words of others and the words conveying ideas received through intuition, insight or divine revelation (sabda). The truest and the most important source of knowledge is ‘sabda’ which is not only informative but also transformative.

Similarly, wealth is not synonymous with lots of money. One can be happy and healthy and very useful to others with less lucre and more love, less gold and more of good values of life; if wealth is regarded as a source of happiness the latter will be more so than the former. Since love and values of life originate in the Lord’s love for us and in the teachings that He imparts, He then is the real source of knowledge and wealth indeed.

The last line is a summary of all that is said above. Yet another meaning too can be read in it. God is in parents, relatives, friends and the circumstances of our life that we now have, in or behind all of them. Through them God allows us to experience the results of our past and present deeds: Through good parents He teaches us with good examples worthy of following; through the not-so-good or bad ones, we are taught how not to think and do things. Through the facilities we have, the lord rewards our meritorious acts; and through the problems we face the Lord helps us to learn where we went wrong. So behind and in front and all around us there is God facilitating our growth in the understanding of our true self and concomitant wisdom and happiness. We are indeed the children of God, heirs to the legacy of His love, wisdom and bliss.

In the ancient Vedhik tradition, the worship of the Divine takes mainly three forms:

  1. In the outer physical or gross form, an idol or image or picture of that divinity is worshipped; this is called representational type of worship i.e. Pratheekopaasana.
  2. That same divinity is worshipped in terms of particular sound forms or sacred letter/word forms. This is called subtle type of contemplation, Bhavopaasana.
  3. If that Divinity is fully internalised, and installed within the heart of the worshipper, and worshipped with single-minded devotion that worship is classed as “Self absorption in the divinity, Ahamgrahopaasana. If such contemplation becomes automatically continuous, the distinction between the worshipped and the worshipper ceases and the seeker is united as it were, with the Divinity.

Generally speaking, Vedhik Worship of a Divine personality is performed through the composite use of:

  1. holy sacred formulae (Manthras)
  2. potentised diagrammatic inscriptions of letters/words pertaining to that Deity i.e. Yanthra or Chakra and
  3. a set of specific procedures or methodology of worship called Thanthra.

The Power Of Om

People who meditate often rave about its benefits. People who don’t often dismiss it as quackery. But does the truth lie somewhere between “hugely effective ancient discipline” and “harmless fad”?

Personally, I’ve never found sitting cross-legged and chanting “om” – picture Richard Dreyfuss in the Oscar-winning film The Goodbye Girl – easy, or indeed relaxing. And according to the Which? Guide to Complementary Medicine, I am not alone. Some 400 people a week learn to meditate and then give up within the first year, finding the switch from worry mode to a blissful state too hard.

But underestimating the technique means I’m missing out on a range of benefits to my health, my mood and my attention span, according to research.

One study has found that people who meditate have a better immune response to the flu vaccine than people who do not meditate. Another looked at 90 cancer patients who did meditation for seven weeks. They found that people who meditated had 31 per cent lower stress symptoms and 67 per cent less mood disturbance than people who did not meditate.

Studies this year suggest that meditation is so powerful it can even “re-circuit” the brain. Just as aerobics can improve muscle shape so, claims a study in the American journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, meditation tones the grey cells.

Brain scans conducted by researchers at Harvard, Yale, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology reveal that those experienced at meditating boasted increased thickness in parts of the brain that deal with attention and processing sensory input.

The finding is in line with studies showing that accomplished musicians, athletes and linguists all have thickening in relevant areas of the cortex.

Other claims made for meditation range from improving asthma and increasing fertility through to reducing the effects of ageing.

So how does it work?

To understand the impact of meditation, experts say we need to understand what meditation actually is. Broadly speaking, it’s a mental practice in which a person focuses attention on a particular subject or object. It is associated with religion, but can be secular, and what you focus on is largely a matter of personal choice – a mantra, breathing patterns, or simply an awareness of being alive.

In Madison, Wisconsin, Dr Richard Davidson carried out studies on Buddhist monks for several years. In one study, he observed the brains of a group of office workers before and after they undertook a course of meditation combined with stress reduction techniques. At the end of the course the participants’ brains seemed to have altered in the way they functioned.

They showed greater activity in the left-hand side – a characteristic which Davidson has previously linked to happiness and enthusiasm. He told the BBC: “By meditating, you can become happier, you can concentrate more effectively and you can change your brain in ways that support that.” The idea that meditation can improve the well-being of everyone, as well as those suffering from depression and forms of mental illness, is exciting researchers.

One of those is Kathy Sykes, professor of sciences and society at Bristol University in the UK, who visited Kathmandu for instruction with Matthieu Ricard, a Buddhist monk who has been meditating for more than 30 years. She wanted to learn more about meditation and separate myth from reality. She says meditating helped her cope with the death of her father and she now uses it in all sorts of situations, some very humdrum. “When I try to meditate now it does have a more powerful effect,” she says.

Her father died from cancer about two months before she went to Kathmandu and she had not been able to grieve his loss, she says. Matthieu suggested she focus on unconditional love, and when she thought about that, she said, she inevitably thought about her father. She wept for ages and was finally able to let go.

“Meditating and mindfulness now help me get in touch with what really matters, and stop worrying about ‘surface’ stuff,” she says. “It helped me profoundly in handling all my grief around dad’s illness and death. It helps me with almost everything.”

After her visit to Kathmandu – and as part of a TV programme on meditation – she went to Massachusetts General Hospital in the US, where Dr Herbert Benson, a Harvard Medical School professor, put her through a series of tests.

Doctors measured her resting pulse, muscle tension, respiration and sweat. They then subjected her to some mental arithmetic, during which her stress levels and all her readings soared.

But after a short period of meditation, her pulse and breathing dropped below the resting rate. Dr Benson called this the “relaxation response” and said it could help with a wide range of conditions, including heart disease, asthma, diabetes and infertility. He said that to the extent that any disorder was caused or made worse by stress, achieving a “relaxation response” would counteract that condition.

Sykes said she was recently on a crowded train travelling from London to the south-west of England where there was “standing-room only”. She sat cross-legged on the floor to meditate and felt like she was transported to a “delightful” place. “I’d had a frenzied day, having to think and concentrate hard, speak and plan all day. The train was a nightmare. Packed, noisy, no seats left and truly horrid. I just found a place to sit in the floor, closed my eyes, and allowed all the mad busyness of my brain that day to stop, concentrated on my breathing – and it was a massive relief and escape.”

She regards new research showing how meditation may alter the physical structure of the brain as fascinating. “Of course, it may be that particular kinds of people are drawn to meditate… so more work is needed. But a slightly thicker cortex has also been found in the brains of taxi drivers and jugglers who have to concentrate while staying calm.”

Such is the vogue now for meditation as part of medicine that mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, which is about 80 per cent meditation, has been approved by the UK clinical watchdog, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, for use with people in the UK who have experienced three or more episodes of depression.

It is also offered by hospitals in cases of chronic or terminal illness to reduce complications associated with increased stress, including a depressed immune system.

But some medical experts strike a cautious note. Cancer Research UK, the health charity, says that generally speaking meditation practices are very safe. “But there is no evidence to suggest that meditation can help to prevent, treat or cure your cancer or any other disease,” says a spokesman. He also points out that some types of meditation can actually worsen symptoms such as depression, anxiety and delusions. “When you practice meditation you may see more clearly any anxiety, depressed feelings, or negative thoughts that you have. This can make you feel frightened, low or disorientated.”

Research into using meditation to help people with a disease like cancer to cope with stress, anxiety and the side-effects of treatment continues. But only a few clinical trials involving small numbers of patients have been done so far. “We need a lot more research in this area before we will know for sure how meditation can help people with cancer,” said the spokesman.

So the jury is out, and research continues, but Sykes says she is sticking with meditation and thinks others should try it. If evidence is found that meditation could help people to think better, be happier and even be more compassionate, that would be astonishing in itself, she said.

HeartBeat Om

Om – Aum – Pranava – Omkara

Om Omkara

Om – Aum – Pranava – Omkara
Oh, the Glories of Om! “Aum” is a variant spelling of “Om”. The word can be spelled either way because the letter “o” is regarded as a diphthong consisting of “a” and “u”. There is quite a division among people as to how Om is actually pronounced. Many people try to accentuate the “au” sound in aum, trying to make it sound like “ow-m” or “awe-m”. However, “aum” is pronounced “om” as in “home”. The “au” sound is an extremely subtle intonation that naturally arises, when Om is intoned, and can be heard when the pitch is increased. One does not have to accentuate the “au” sound in Om to hear it. Just intone Om as “om” and you will hear it naturally. Just intone the mantra slowly.

Information on Om and all about Om and Aum

Of all the mantras, the most powerful and the significant one is the single-syllabled incantation called the Pranava. This is the OM. The available literature upon the significances of the Vedic mantra is almost voluminous. Nowhere in the world can we meet with a more sacred symbol that has got such a vast amount of significance.

From Vedic times until the present day the word ‘OM’ has been taken as a symbol and as an aid to meditation by spiritual aspirants. It is accepted both as one with ‘Brahman’ and as the medium, the Logos, connecting man and God. The entire history of the syllable is in the revelations of the Vedas and in the declarations of the Upanishads.

There is a verse in the Vedas: ‘Prajapathi vai idam agra asit’ (In the beginning was Prajapathi, the Brahman): ‘Tasya vak dvitiya asit’ (With whom was the Word): ‘Vag vai Paraman Brahma’ (And the Word was verily the Supreme Brahman).** This sphota has its symbol in the word OM. The sound of OM is also called ‘Pranava’, meaning, that it is something that pervades life, or runs through prana or breath.

The very central theme of the Mandukya Upanishad is the syllable OM through which the mystery of Brahman is gathered to a point. The text of this Upanishad first treats OM in terms of the Upanishadic doctrine of the three states of waking, dream, and deep sleep, but then passes on to the ‘fourth’ (turiya), thus transporting us beyond the typical Upanishadic sphere into that of the later ‘classic Advaita Vedanta’. Speaking of OM, the Taittiriya Upanishad says: “Thou art the sheath of Brahman.’ That is, OM is the container for the Supreme and, therefore, invoking OM is invoking the Supreme.

In every piece of music there are three aspects, namely (1) the meaning of the song; (2) the laws of music, and (3) the sound of the song. Similarly, on OM there are three aspects. The first is the mere sound, the mere mantra as pronounced by the mouth; the second is the meaning of the syllable, which is to be realized through feeling; and the third is the application of OM to your character, singing it in your acts, and so through your life.

OM represents the Self which is the Supreme Nondual Reality. The Self is known in four states, namely, the waking state, the dream state, the deep-sleep state, and the fourth state called the turiya. All these states are represented in the three sounds of OM (i.e., A, U, M***), and the silence that follows and surrounds the syllable.

The sound A represents the waking state; the sound U represents the dream state, and the sound M represents the deep sleep state. The waking state is superimposed on the A sound because it is the first of the three states of consciousness, and so is the sound A the very first of the letters of the alphabet – in all languages. The dream is but a view within the mind of the impressions that had reflected on the surface of the mental lake during the waking state. Besides, the dream state occurs between the waking and the deep-sleep state, and comes second among the three states of consciousness. And so, U, being next to A in order of sounds, and also since it is between A and M, is treated as representing the dream state. On the M sound of OM is superimposed the deep-sleep state. The comparison between the last sound of the OM and sleep lies in that it is the closing sound of the syllable, just as deep sleep is the final stage of the mind in rest. A short pregnant silence is inevitable between two successive OMs. On this silence is superimposed the idea of the fourth state, known as turiya. This is the state of Perfect Bliss when the individual Self recognises the identity with the Supreme.

In OM, the sounds A, U, and M are called mantras or forms; there is also in AUM the common principle called the amatra-OM, that which signifies the things-in-itself, running through and pervading the threefold phenomena of waking, dream, and deep sleep. The law of memory is that the rememberer and the experiencer must be one and the same individual, or else memory is impossible. So, as we can remember all our experiences in all three planes, there must necessarily be a single common factor which was a witness of all the happenings in all the three planes. There must be some entity within ourselves who is present in the waking world, who moves and illuminates the dream, who is a distant observer in the deep sleep world, and yet who is not conditioned by any of these three realms. This entity, conceived as the fourth state (turiya), is the Real, the Changeless, the Intelligent Principle.

The syllable OM symbolizes both the spheres:(1) the phenomenal, visible sphere of the ‘jagat’, wherein the manifestations of time and space appear and perish, and (2) the transcendent, timeless sphere of the Imperishable Being, which is beyond and yet one with it. Thus, A the ‘waking state’, U, the ‘dream’, and M, the ‘deep sleep’, and the silence, ‘turiya’, all the four together comprise the totality of this manifestation of Atman-Brahman as a syllable. Just as the sound M manifests itself, grows, becomes transformed in its vocal quality, and finally subsides into the silence that follows****, so too the four ‘states’ or components of being ultimately merge into the homogeneous silence of the ‘fourth’ (turiya). The other three states are transformations of the one experience, which taken together constitute the totality of its modes, whether regarded from the microcosmic or from the macrocosmic point of view.

The A and U are essential to the sound as M, or as the silence (turiya) against which the sound appears. Moreover, it would be a mistake to say that AUM did not exist while the silence reigned; for it would be still potentially present even in the silence. The actual manifestation of the syllable, on the other hand, is fleeting and evanescent, whereas the silence abides. The silence, indeed, is present elsewhere during a local pronunciation of the AUM – that is to say (by analogy), transcendentally during the creation, manifestation, and dissolution of the universe.

It may be asked as to why this particular word ‘OM’ should be chosen as the word representative of the ‘thought’ out of which the universe has become manifested. The answer may be given in Swami Vivekananda’s own words: “This OM is the only possible symbol which covers the whole ground, and there is none other like it. The sphota is the material of all worlds, yet it is not any definite word in its fully formed state. That is to say, if all the particularities which distinguish one word from another be removed, then what remains will be the sphota. Therefore, this sphota is called the Nada-Brahman, the sound-Brahman.

Now, every word symbol intended to express the inexpressible sphota, will so particularise it that it will no longer be the sphota. That which particularise it the least and, at the same time, most approximately expresses its nature will be the truest symbol thereof; and this is the OM, and the OM only; because, these three letters A, U, M, pronounced in combination as OM, can alone be the generalized symbol of all possible sounds. The letter A is the least differentiate of all sounds. Again, all articulate sounds are produced in the space within the mouth – beginning with the root of the tongue and ending at the lips – the throat-sound is A, and M is the lip-sound; and U exactly represents the rolling forward of the impulse which begins at the root of the tongue, continuing till it ends in the lips.”

If properly pronounced, this OM will represent in itself the whole phenomenon of sound production, and no other word can do this; and this, therefore, is the fittest symbol of the sphota, which is the real meaning of the OM. And as the symbol can never be separated from the thing signified, the OM and the sphota are one. And, as the sphota, being the finer side of the manifested universe, is nearer to God, and is indeed the first manifestation of Divine Wisdom, this OM is truly symbolic of God.

OM thus represents the entire manifested world and the unmanifest, and also that which lies beyond both the manifest and the unmanifest – the Brahman, which is the changeless substratum for the changing objects of the world of experience.

To every mantra, OM, the Pranava, is added on. And without ‘OM’ no sacred chant has its power. Just as a living body has no vitality when the life-giving breath is not flowing through its veins, so too, a mantra has no life in it without the addition of the Pranava.

Vedantic students generally practise the repetition of and the mediation upon the symbol provided by the Pranava – this is called the Pranava upasana. OM represents, in its silent significance, both the manifest and the unmanifest, which together constitute the entire subtle and gross world. The word loka in Sanskrit is generally translated as ‘world’, but, in its etymological meaning, it signifies ‘a field of experience’.

The entire possibility of experience in life has been terraced by the rsis into fourteen worlds; seven higher lokas and seven lower worlds. There are three worlds in which a limited ego-centre comes to play its game of reincarnation and repeated deaths: these are (1) Bhur-loka, the physical earth; (2) Bhuvar-loka, the world next to the physical and closely connected with it, but constituted of finer matter; and (3) Suvar-loka, the heavenly world. Beyond these are the four other ‘worlds’ wherein the ego comes to move about and enjoy in its higher evolutionary life, and they are called the Mahar-loka, Jana- loka, Tapa-loka, and Satya-loka.

In the Hindu literature we also find conceptions of other ‘worlds’ such as Indra-loka, Candra-loka, Surya-loka, Pitra-loka, etc., which are special ‘realms of experiences’ located within the above regions.

Below these seven ‘worlds’ there is yet another set of seven ‘worlds’ called the talas. They are named as Pa-talam, Maha-talam, Rasa-talam, Tala- talam, Su-talam, Vi-talam, and A-talam.

Of these fourteen ‘worlds’, Bhur-Bhuvar-Suvar, denoting the ‘three worlds’, are called the vyahrtis. In the Gayatri Mantra, when these vyahrtis are chanted, the meditator can visualise the ‘three worlds’ as arising from, existing in, and disappearing into AUM. He can subjectively identify them with the waking, dream, and deep-sleep conditions of consciousness, transcending which extends the realms of the Infinite. All of them are represented in the symbol OM. In this sense, the vyahrtis in the Gayatri represent in one sweep the entire ‘world’ of the subjective and the objective experiences of man.

Mantra and Japa – Gayatri Meditation and Life.

Sathya Sai Baba said about Om:

V. MANDUKYOPANISHAD: This Upanishad is the kernel of Vedantha; it is the most profound among all the Upanishads; it is also the chiefest, having the distinction of being recommended as, by itself, enough to lead man to salvation. It is very brief, consisting of just a dozen manthras! They are divided into four sections, Agama, Vaithathya, Adwaitha and Alathasanthi. In the Agamaprakarana, the secret doctrine of Pranava which is the key to self-realisation is expounded. In the second Prakatana, the doctrine of Dualism, the great obstacle to liberation is discussed and rebutted. In the third, the A-dwaitha or non-dual Unity is propounded. The last Prakarana describes certain mutually contradictory non-Vedic doctrines and rejects them.

No sound is beyond the ken of Om; all sounds are permutations and products of Om. Brahmam too is Om, identified by It and with It. The Brahmam, which is beyond Vision, is manifest for the vision as Atma.

The distinctions of Viswa, Taijasa and Prajna are but appearances imposed on the Atma; that is to say the Atma continues the same, unaffected by the waking, the dreaming and the deep-sleep stages of man’s existence. This Atma and the Atma which one refers to as ‘I’ are both the same. The ‘I’ or the Atma swims like a fish in the river, paying no regard to this bank or that, though the waters are limited and guided by them. In deep sleep, all the vasanas or impulses are suspended and though they still persist, they are not manifest or active. In dream, man follows the impulses and wins satisfaction in the process. All the manifold pulls and attractions of the sensory world, which impel man towards the objects around him, are born during the waking and the dream stages. The mind is full of agitations and these are the fertile fields where the vasanas grow, multiply and strike root. As a matter of fact, it is the agitating mind that causes Creation, that is behind all Srishti.

There is however a Fourth stage, distinct from these three: it is named Thuriya! This stage cannot be described by words or even imagined by the mind, for it is beyond both Buddhi and Manas. The experience is inadequately described as Santham, Sivam, Adwaitham; that is all. It is Peace. It is Grace. It is One-ness. The mental agitations are stilled and so there is no more mind. It is the conquest of the mind, its negation, the A-manaska stage. What a victory it is! For, in deep sleep the Mind is latent; in dream, the Mind is restless with agitations; in the waking stage, it is active and motivating. In all the three stages, Truth remains unknown. The objective world is but a delusion of the agitated mind, the super-imposition on the rope of a non-existent snake. The world is not born, nor does it die; it is born when you are ignorant; it dies when you become wise.

The AUM of the Omkara, representing the Viswa, Taijasa and Prajna aspects of the waking, dreaming and deep sleep stages of existence, have each a particular role in Sadhana. Upasana which A emphasises more, makes one realise all desires; if U is concentrated upon, then Jnana increases and if M is specially dwelt upon in the Upasana, the final merging of the Soul in the Supreme is effected. The Upasaka of Pranava will also earn the knowledge of the Truth of the world and Creation. The Upasaka, therefore, of the Pranava draws unto himself the reverence of all.

The A, U and M proceed from one to the other in the Pranava and finally merge in an A-manthra, a letterless resonance which thins out into silence. That is the symbol of the Santham, the Sivam and the Adwaitham, the merging of the individualised soul in the Universal, after the shedding of the limiting particulars of name and form. This is not all. The Karikas 24-29 of this Upanishad praise Pranava as the cause of Creation. It is extolled as quenching all grief. Why? He who ruminates on he Om, ever aware of its significance can steadily move on to an Awareness of the Real behind all this unreal Appearance, of the Paramatmathathwa Itself. ~Sathya Sai Baba

‘Lunatic Fringe’ In Cults, Ashrams & Religious Movements

Robert Priddy (a caustic critic and defamer of Sathya Sai Baba and others) submitted an Anti-Baba article on that said (in part):

Sathya Sai Baba’s ‘channelers’ and mediums – & Shivaratri fraud: Entertaining as a fair sample of the quite populous ‘lunatic fringe’ that is always prominent in the ashrams and no less throughout the Sai movement.”

Needless to say, Robert Priddy miserably failed to discuss the “entertaining” “lunatic fringe” that has always been prominent among Ex-Devotees. Robert Priddy himself was a “lunatic fringe” believer in Sathya Sai Baba for 17 – 26 years (even hailing the guru as God incarnate!) and professed belief in elementals, elves, fairies and leprechauns (discussed later in this article).

Robert Priddy cherry-picks his one-way and self-serving criticisms (bewailing the so-called faults, gullibility and mental deficiencies of Sai Devotees), all the while suppressing and ignoring these same faults, gullibility and mental deficiencies prevalent among Ex-Devotees of Sathya Sai Baba.

Bi-Sexual Conny Larsson (a caustic critic and defamer of Sathya Sai Baba and others) is peddling himself as a self-proclaimed Prophet and trance channeler for Maharishi Vyasa. Conny Larsson’s “trance medium” claims were even published in a national Swedish newspaper (Norrland Social Democrat aka Norrlandska Socialdemokraten) under the title Medium drog full hus – Medium draws full house (which documented a couple of trance channeling demonstrations by Conny Larsson).

Robert Priddy and Kevin R. D. Shepherd attempted to defend Conny Larsson and ending up eating their words when Gerald Joe Moreno published his scathing responses entitled “Kevin Shepherd & Psychic Medium Conny Larsson” and “Conny Larsson Admits To Psychic Fraud”.

Conny Larsson claims he is a Psychic Healer and Spirit-Medium who uses crystal pendulums to diagnose disorders, blockages and ills in other’s auras (Ref). Conny Larsson also sells himself as a Meditation Guru, Spirituality & Yoga Master, Bhajan Leader, Mantra Guru, Vedic Master, etc.. Conny Larsson is the founder of and, which solicits the services of numerous psychics, mediums, channelers and New Age healers (many who have gurus and alleged “angel” contacts).

Even more disturbing is the fact that Conny Larsson self-disclosed his psychiatric diagnosis (made by a psychiatrist) of him being “psychoinfantile”, which is also known as Histrionic Personality Disorder.

Apparently, if you hear voices in your head, channel Vyasa, perform trance healings, converse with dead people, channel the spirits of dead animals, hold negative views about Sathya Sai Baba, perform séances and have been officially diagnosed with a psychiatric personality disorder, give Ex-Devotees a call because you might be their next credible reference against Sathya Sai Baba.

Alan Kazlev (a caustic critic of Sathya Sai Baba and others) is a true-believer and promoter of: Integral Transformation, Integral Metaphysics, Reincarnation, Spirit Possession, Trolls, UFOs, Aliens, Alternate Realities, Cosmic Redemption, Planetary Buddhas, Avataric Gurus, Psychic Powers, Devas, Earth Spirits, Elementals, the Occult, Kundalini, Astrology, Karma, Auras, Astral Bodies, Astral Planes, Astral Beings, Geomancy, Theta Magic, Natal Charts, Samskaras, various New Age philosophies, etc.

Alan Kazlev claimed that Ramana Maharshi is his “sadguru” and that Sri Aurobindo and Mother Mirra are his “gurus”. Furthermore, Alan Kazlev ranted about his past lives on his website, claiming past life associations with Ancient Rome, Atlantis and Ancient Greece. Alan Kazlev claimed he lived past lives as a Polish Kabbalist, a German Soldier and a 19th Century English gentleman-scholar, philosopher theologian and naturalist raised as a British Israelite. Alan Kazlev stated he reincarnates two to three times a century and was “exiled” to Earth (apparently from another planet) to help in the spiritual transformation of the entire Earth (Reference).

It has since come to light that Alan Kazlev is a grungy guy who loves to drool over images of a “pornographic kind” (using Robert Priddy’s moral standards) and wrote two cyberpunk articles replete with filthy speech and sexually explicit material. See:

Ex-Devotees have yet to say one word about Alan Kazlev’s penchant to tell raunchy and pornographic stories about erect penises, wanton sex and obscene references to women as being “cunts”.

M. Alan Kazlev is also a pseudo-psychiatrist who loves to make bogus psychological profiles of people who dissent with him (although he has no known credentials in the medical or psychiatric fields). As a matter of fact, Alan Kazlev openly admitted he has no credentials in the medical or psychiatric fields yet judges and defames others while hypocritically preaching about “love” and “letting go of hatred”.

Tony O’Clery (a caustic critic and defamer of Sathya Sai Baba and others) believes in Atlantis and Lemuria, Edgar Cayce (a psychic trance medium called “The Sleeping Prophet”), shape-shifting (literally changing one’s physical body to that of an animal, bird, reptile or other creature), UFO’s, aliens, alien abductions, reincarnation, black magic using semen, astral planes with astral beings, thought forms, psychic attacks, kundalini, psychics, mediums, karma, the mayan calendar apocalypse, talking to the dead, demon possession, channeling, prophecies, bilocation and believes that Hiranyakasipu (a mythological demon who is said to have existed millions of years ago) was able to manipulate matter completely and could create ships that could go to the stars!

Anthony Tony O’Clery also claims he is a trance-medium who hears, sees and speaks to the dead, enters demon-trances and thinks everyone in his family is psychic (Refs: 010203).

Tony O’Clery also wrote a disgusting, falsified and fraudulent news story that said:

Tony O’Clery (under the pseudonym “Angelic”): “no it was cnn, the four year old just crossed the street from his parents house. He was molested and chopped up and buried in the backyard. He son held the boy, her husband raped him whilst she masturbated according to cnn.
I think afterwards they went to bhajans at the sai centre. The police said there was a big picture of sb (Sai Baba) on the wall, and they offered the rape to him, understanding he would relish the idea.” (Reference)

To Date: Not even one Ex-Devotee has said a single word about O’Clery’s disgusting and fraudulent news story claiming that a man raped his 4-year-old son while the 4-year-old was held by another son with the mother watching on masturbating! As if this isn’t disgusting enough, Tony O’Clery then claimed that the 4-year-old boy was chopped up and buried in the back yard and that the mother and father offered the rape to Sathya Sai Baba!

These are the type of mentally unsound whackos belonging to the Anti-Sai Movement.

Loohan (an Anti-Sai Activist and self-professed psychic) not only believes that he can psychically “program” areas of land with his mind to create demon and ET “prisons”, he also believes in the “Illuminati” (a secret society comprised of pedophilic, blood-sucking, shape-shifting reptilians from the Draco constellation). The following paragraph contains “loohan’s” psychic impressions about pictures he saw of Sathya Sai Baba on the internet:

“June 2, 2006: Sai Baba. I see they have posted more ‘new’ pics of His Holiness, also all at least 6 weeks old. About 40% down the page is a pic of the Anointing One. To his left is a dark-skinned man, to his right a white man, squatting. The dark guy is his witch #5, the white guy #4. Right below that are 4 little girls, dancing. The 2 front ones are sexually abused. I pulled out the sex demons they had from vaginal injection. I am confident that medical inspection would show they are not virgins. The bottom pic has the same 2 witches, too. His female ones are not on this page.
I found a clone they are working on to replace Baba. Baba’s ’spirit’ (insectile) is history, so it won’t be the same person except in appearance. I stuffed the clone full of parasites, which made his location very easy to dowse. He is in a house on the SE corner of Mesnes Rd. and Wordsworth Ave., Marylebone, Greater Manchester, WN1, UK. I don’t think the clone is ready for action yet for another couple months, so i can beat up on him at my leisure.”

Believe it or not, this is not the first time that Anti-Sai Activists claimed that Sathya Sai Baba has been (or will be) “replaced” by a clone. The “clone conspiracy” theory attempts to explain away Sai Baba’s youthful appearance at 85 years of age. Loohan believes he was able to psychically remove “sex demons” residing in the vaginas of little girls simply by looking at their picture!

Julian O’Donnell (an Ex-Devotee) claimed he lived past lives with Sathya Sai Baba and that he was able to “fix” the guru with his vast psychic powers. O’Donnell also wished that someone would assassinate Sai Baba and his emails strongly suggest he suffers from chronic psychiatric problems.

Kyra Kitts (an Ex-Devotee of Sathya Sai Baba residing in San Luis Obispo) had her own website (“”, which is no longer online) for close to five years in which she solicited herself as a psychic, clairvoyant and spiritual healer who could perform in-person and long-distance healings. She claimed to have been “overtly psychic since approximately age eleven”. Kyra Kitts claimed that H. H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche began appearing to her in inner visions and spoke to her in Tibetan. She also claimed that Sathya Sai Baba appeared to her in a semi-awake/semi-asleep vision that radically changed her life. When she visited Sai Baba in India, she was tormented with “bizarre sexual thoughts”, even in Baba’s presence. Kyra Kitts claimed that while walking by the meditation bench behind the mandir, she psychically perceived Sathya Sai Baba “in his room masturbating, looking out his window, and laughing at the crowd”. Kyra Kitts said that Sathya Sai Baba looked like a “Fijian gorilla” and referred to the guru as “Sai Bob, sex cowboy”. Kyra Kitts has/had numerous, chronic, physical ailments that affected her mentally (admittedly) for many years. Kyra Kitts is a believer in gurus, psychic powers, ESP, siddhis, telepathy, clairvoyance, clairaudience, channeling, precognition, etc. Kyra Kitts is married to Christopher ‘Chris’ Kitts and complained on the Narcissistic Personality Disorder Yahoo Group about Chris’ domineering mother! Kyra Kitts served as the main contact for the “Bodhi Path” Buddha Center in San Luis Obispo. Kyra Kitts also used the internet pseudonym “mireille108” and claimed that Ammachi is her “core Guru”.

Barry Pittard (a caustic critic and defamer of Sathya Sai Baba and others) said he believes (even after his defection from the Sai Movement) that Sathya Sai Baba possesses genuine paranormal powers! As a matter of fact, Barry Pittard said:

“I can tell you that I and others have witnessed hundreds – and ones of the most profoundly beautiful sort – both mediated in his own person and in places far from him but in their style connected with him. My own view is this: that they are happening on a tremendously wide scale; that they cannot all be explained away as faked; that they are phenomena not at present rationally understood…From November 1975, I began to experience many profound and beautiful phenomena. Wherever I travelled in the world, they manifested far away from, yet were often clearly related to, his physical presence on the planet…I have had thousands of experiences that transcend scientific or intellectual explanation…I have many times experienced supranormal phenomena related to him, which there is no explaining away…Their sheer magnitude round the globe is bound to attract history’s final verdict that they are real, and do happen. (I have, by the way, found many rationalists and sceptics just as biased as many religionists).” (Reference)

Barry Pittard was also a promoter of various Nadi Sastras, which are prophetic readings obtained from palm leafs, finger-prints or astrological data in India. Barry Pittard even claimed he sent out 2,000 emails to various people, attempting to obtain information to support and promote his obvious obsession with “Nadi Sastras”.

Barry Pittard formerly attempted to pass himself off as a spiritual healer for many years but now lives on a disability pension in Australia (apparently, unable to heal himself). The reason for Pittard’s disability pension is a fanatically guarded secret. Gerald Moreno received a highly credible email that claimed Barry Pittard saw a psychologist on the Sunshine Coast and Pittard’s disability pension may actually be due to psychiatric reasons.

Currently, Barry Pittard claims that various Anti-Baba lyrics and songs are “manifesting” through him!

Sanjay Dadlani (a fully exposed pervert, vocal Anti-Sai Activist and Ex-Devotee) is a Hare Krishna congregational member who is a believer in the Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam (which Priddy said one must be “backward intellectually” to believe in: Ref).

Sanjay Dadlani has openly declared his belief that Lord Krishna held aloft an entire mountain on his pinky finger for seven days and seven nights without rest, going to the bathroom or sleep. Sanjay Dadlani also believes that Lord Krishna literally manifested 16,000 separate human bodies and married 16,000 women and copulated with each one of them, generating numerous offspring. Sanjay also gets down on his hands and knees and worships stone deities as God Incarnate (Refs: 010203).

Sanjay Dadlani argues for the integrity of the Srimad Bhagavatam as a reliable historical record for the life and lilas of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Funny enough, the Srimad Bhagavatam claims we live in a geocentric universe and that Sun is closer to the Earth than the Moon! See: What Are The Implications When A Guru Or Scripture Err?

Ex-Devotees see nothing wrong with Sanjay Dadlani’s homosexual-fantasizing slurs, perverted Jesus-sex fetish and deviant boot-sex fetish. Sanjay Dadlani secretly stalked innocent women at Middlesex University (calling them “bitches” and “sluts”, saying “they want it”, calling Mothers “MILFs”, photographing females and teenagers up their dresses and under tables and published these photos on his streetbitches blog).

Sanjay Dadlani posted on the QuickTopic Forum (using multiple fake names, including female names) and made disgusting posts under the name “Marquis de Sade” about a large penis for anal sex, a feces-covered anus, bestiality, people vomiting into each other’s mouths and a Priest ejaculating on the face of a little girl as related by her brother. Sanjay even posted under the name “kick his head in” and said that someone should murder Sathya Sai Baba (of course, this is the same guy who rejoiced when a Sai Baba temple was bombed).

And to top it all off, Sanjay Dadlani claimed he met sadhus in India that were 300 years old and that he engaged in tantric sex under the direction of Aghori Vimalananda when he was 7 years old! Sanjay Dadlani also believes that men can suck up semen to their brains and can live thousands of years thereby!

On the ExBaba website, a person calling himself “Sol Mystic” (aka Paul Richard De Furia – who lives in Manassas USA) owns website. This website advocates for the belief in Ascended Magi & Ascended Elders and even claimed that the Ascended Solist Masters will rise from the dead after the year 2005 (as of 2010, no one has raised from the dead yet).

The Society Of Light website also promotes beliefs in UFO’s, aliens, psychic prophecy, predictions, chakras, auras, prophets, harmonizers, guardians, seers, unifiers, telekinesis, reincarnation, rebirth, astral planes, astral beings, psychic attacks, channeling, trans-mediumship, discarnates, avatars, crop circles, demons, telepathy, levitation, teleportation, ascended masters (the list goes on and on). Sol Mystic had the following to say about Sathya Sai Baba:

“My own insight as a SOL Mystic, which was confirmed to me in part by the Christian Mystic, Ray Stanford, as well as by the Hindu Mystic, Ishtan Natarajan, is that Sai Baba is a subangel (demon) prophet who has powerful Gifts of the Spirit (like Charisma, Healing and Manifestation, i.e., the ability to create food and jewelry), given to him by millions of spiritually indifferent discarnates in the Lower Realms of Spirit. They combine their soul energy into a group consciousness for the sake of collective power so that they can manifest these Gifts of telekinesis but they are not spiritually principled. They project a clever, well-orchestrated illusion to millions of incarnate people around the world that Sai Baba is a God Realized Avatar. In actuality, he is just a pedophile subangel prophet.”

Apparently, someone has been watching too much Harry Potter.

Dan Winter (an Anti-Sai Activist) wrote an utterly psychotic article about Sathya Sai Baba, “sex juice” and “borgs” (a fictional race of cyborgs in the Star Trek universe, which Dan Winters thinks actually exist because he believes in the “Illuminati” – a secret society comprised of pedophilic, blood-sucking, shape-shifting reptilians from the Draco constellation). Dan Winter said (in part):
“So no one in the conversation was apologetic about many reports that Sai Baba when seen clairvoyantly looked just like a giant worm out of DUNE. (The one report that he was a parasitic worm of the An lineage originally assigned to UrANus was unconfirmed.) I tried to explain how large scale harvesting of human glandular juices, uv blue fire aura / ecstatic/sex juice , was the raw material Sai Baba needed for Vibuti production. Hugh and Carol emphasized how millions of Indian children had schools because of Sai Baba; I pointed out that each day they all were required to pour out their worship uv juice to the reigning astral parasite/ guru Sai himself.

Of course their is a possible symbiosis between a reigning borg queen and her hive. And no one here is suggesting we should regard Sai Baba as simply evil in the sense of failing to embed. The question is more what should we learn and strengthen about self empowerment from the millions of person who sought this urge to the flow of guru juice, even if it was vampiric in may ways.

For example, I would not agree with the statement above that Sai had no mystical powers. In fact if you can be the cookie cutter at the nozzle of so many millions of humans sex/uv/worship juice, you DO get to be very powerful. What is so critical that we not be borgs in the river of that blue fire, but instead angels aborning, is that we understand the PRINCIPLE of how that worm becomes self-aware and self-steering. (been trying to get a-’head’ for millenia…)”

Apparently, someone has been sipping cuckoo juice while watching too much Star Trek & Dune.

Dan Winters is also a convicted felon who was successfully sued for copyright infringement and plagiarism. Daniel Winters also has a USA warrant out for his arrest (Refs: 0102). This is the type of nut and criminal that Ex-Devotees and the Ex-Baba domain solicit as a credible voice against Sathya Sai Baba.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Although Timothy Conway can often be seen attempting to present himself as a rational and logical voice against Sathya Sai Baba, he is a true believer and promoter of Gurus [3], Mystics [3], Enlightened Masters [3], psychics [1] [2] [4], levitation [5], bi-location [5], miracles [5], remote-viewing [4], elementals, meditation [2] [6], paranormal powers [5], aliens [4] [10], rebirth [1] [7], reincarnation [1] [7], karma [8], oracles [2], I-Ching [2], sensitives [1] [2], channelers [1] [2], astrology [2], astrologists [2], palm-reading [2], non-duality [9], etc. (the list goes on and on).

For example, if you are looking for an answer to a difficult problem, Timothy Conway PhD suggested the following solutions:

“Ask God (Spirit, the one God-Self) for guidance and for some kind of ‘omen’ or ‘sign,’ if needed, to proceed in a certain direction (i.e., making choice A, B, C or whatever). Be willing to wait several days or weeks (or, in some cases, months or even years for this guidance to manifest)…Use an oracle, such as the I Ching (Book of Changes). More simply, you can ask for Divine Guidance and then flip a coin–with heads meaning one choice, tails meaning the other choice. If you like, flip it 10 times and see if a clear pattern emerges. You might say, ‘Well, how the coin flips is simply due to chance.’ Perhaps. But one can also trust that there is a deeper Principle behind everything that happens, and you can ask this Divine Guiding Intelligence to show you an answer via the coin-tossing process. Alternatively, you can create a slightly more sophisticated oracle of your own by getting out 3 or 4 pieces of paper. Then write ‘yes’ on one, ‘no’ on another, ‘wait’ on a third piece of paper, and, if you like, ‘wrong question’ on the fourth piece of paper. Then turn them face down, scramble them up, and pick one of the 3 or 4 pieces of paper to get guidance this way…You can also consult a psychic ‘sensitive’ and/or an astrologer or a palmist (Indian jyotish astrology followed by Western astrology seem to be the most accurate astrology systems. And, curiously, palmistry and astrology seem to complement each other as different methods for getting to the same ‘karmic’ information on the soul’s mission, destiny, strengths and vulnerabilities).” (Reference)

Timothy Conway also believed and endorsed (Ref) the alleged experiences of Shirlи Klein-Carsh, a so-called “Indigo” (an alleged extraterrestrial alien who voluntarily incarnates on Earth). Shirlи Klein-Carsh claimed she was psychologically, spiritually and artistically guided by a cleverly disguised Alien from Sirius who worked as an electronics repairman in a second-hand shop. Timothy Conway said:

“This is a fascinating study of someone with sensitivities hardly dreamed of by most persons. Other books present the carefully presented and reasoned case for the existence of inter-dimensional aliens interacting with humans. This book goes straight into the mystery and wonder of the human-alien contact.” – Timothy Conway, PhD., author of ‘Women of Power and Grace’

Timothy Conway also attempted to argue that if Sai Baba possesses genuine paranormal powers, he could easily “warp spacetime” by creating an “insular interdimensional environment” where he could engage in abuse without easy detection (just as aliens are alleged to do through alien abductions)!

Funny enough, Robert Priddy himself once held belief in elves, fairies, leprechauns, gnomes, trolls, water spirits, animal and plant spirits or ‘devas’ , angels, invisible helpers, shaman ’spirits’, ‘allies’, UFOs, extra-terrestrials, possessive demons, Satan, Pan-figures and other demi-gods (and even wrote an article about it: Ref). Priddy attempted to do damage control when confronted about his “lunatic fringe” beliefs and gave a tongue-in-cheek denial (Reference).

Although Robert Priddy attempts to con the general public into thinking he is entirely given to scientific reasoning, he is actually a true believer and a fierce defender, promoter, endorser, solicitor and friend of various self-professed psychics, trance mediums, reiki healers, guru wannabees, superstitionists, eccentric spiritualists, astrologers (including his own son, Kai Nicolai Priddy, who is heavily into astrology and is the webmaster for and other “lunatic fringe” Baba bashers.

Robert Priddy promotes, endorses and/or professes friendship with:

  1. Trance Channeler & Self-Proclaimed Prophet Conny Larsson
  2. Guru Promoter, UFO Conspiracist & True Believer PhD Timothy Conway
  3. New Age Advocate & Reincarnator Alan Kazlev
  4. Self-Proclaimed Spiritual Master ‘Ramana Baba’
  5. Ramtha Devotee Ullrich Zimmermann
  6. Fetishist & Hare Krsna Congregational Member Sanjay Dadlani
  7. Reiki Master And Spiritual Healer Yaman Konuralp

As a matter of fact, when Robert Priddy attempts to defend himself against Joe Moreno (a Pro-Sai Activist) he directs his readers to either:

  1. Psychic Trance Medium Conny Larsson’s website (located at
  2. Reincarnator, New Age Advocate and Grungy Integral Philosopher Alan Kazlev’s website (located at

How’s that for “scientific” or “rational”? Robert Priddy is obviously a very gullible and naive “true believer” who is willing to give credence to non-scientific beliefs by claiming that trance mediums, self-proclaimed prophets, aura readers, seance conductors, New Age advocates, guru adherents, self-proclaimed reincarnators and the like are intelligent, honest, credible and reliable individuals worthy of being referenced by him (a so-called “scholar” and “academic” not given to lunatic fringe or superstitious beliefs)! To Date: Robert Priddy adamantly refuses to say one word about his promotion and endorsement of these “lunatic fringe” (Priddy’s favorite slur) individuals.

Robert Priddy was also a promoter of LSD and eulogized his own LSD-induced hallucinations for well over 30+ years! See:

  6. Robert Priddy’s 30+ Year Glorification Of LSD

And to top it all off, Robert Priddy believes (even to this day, after his defection) that Sathya Sai Baba possesses genuine paranormal powers.

Robert Priddy: “Nonetheless, it will surely surprise some that I am still almost certain – on the basis of extended personal observation – that Sathya Sai Baba can and does carry out apports, which therefore can appear as materialisations from nothing.”

Apports are said to be physical objects in existence that are dematerialized from one location and rematerialized to another.

Robert Priddy: “Some of what I experienced of SSB’s extraordinary and positive powers through many years is undeniable, even after the most rigorous skeptical investigations, and I do not regard him as any ordinary human being. I have simply had to realize that his actions in the worldly and human sphere are not infallible and are not always setting a perfect example for others.”

Robert Priddy believes that Sathya Sai Baba possesses genuine paranormal powers because the Guru cured him of a debilitating and chronic neck and spinal problem that no one else could cure and whose symptoms no doctor could alleviate. Robert Priddy claimed that Sathya Sai Baba cured him through a series of “dream-operations” that resulted in a literal and physical transformation of his spine, which was supported by x-rays and the testimony of Mr. Kylie (“an osteopath and master of various other disciplines”).

Robert Priddy also claimed that Sathya Sai Baba freed his mother from chronic pain and that a small speck of Sathya Sai Baba’s vibuthi instantaneously cured his paralyzed cat when it suffered from what appeared to be a stroke.

Robert Priddy tries to make the case that Sathya Sai Baba:

  • Is both a fraud and genuine.
  • Both can materialize objects and fakes materializations.
  • Both can cure diseases but really can’t cure diseases.

Trying to pass himself off as an intellectual who currently holds rationalistic beliefs, Robert Priddy miserably fails to explain away the enigma of Sathya Sai Baba. Instead, Robert Priddy appears very confused, conflicted and non-intelligent and ends up sticking his foot further into his mouth with his never-ending and very amusing equivocations.

In Priddy’s “Sathya Sai Baba’s ‘channelers’ and mediums – & Shivaratri fraud” article, he talked about an unsourced story about an unnamed Japanese man who made unusual claims about a ring that Baba gave to him. Funny enough, when Priddy was a brainwashed devotee of Sathya Sai Baba (although he vehemently denied being brainwashed in his book “Source Of The Dream” while a Sai Devotee), he similarly attributed paranormal phenomena to the “green stone” ring that Baba gave to him. About his green stone ring, Priddy said:

“As with other such rings, silhouettes of Sai Baba can be seen in it, sometimes with great clarity, his attitude varying much and very subtly with the lighting conditions. Shading it with a hand even often gives the appearance of the orange robe below the black hair, all set in a translucent green light! At times various types of crosses appear in it and also lotuses and Shivalingams.” (Source of the Dream, “Marching Happy”, page 140)

If the Japanese man belongs to the “lunatic fringe” for making paranormal claims about his Baba ring, then Robert Priddy belongs to the same “lunatic fringe” because he made paranormal claims about his Baba ring as well.

Ullrich Zimmermann (an alleged “victim” whom Robert Priddy constantly cites as being truthful, credible and honest) believes in and follows Ramtha (a 36,000 year old ascended master as channeled through the psychic medium JZ Knight). Here we have a direct admission from Robert Priddy that Ullrich Zimmermann is part of the “lunatic fringe” seen in cults, ashrams and religious movements. Indeed!

Robert Priddy’s OWN SON, Kai Nicolai Priddy, believes in Astrology, created an Astrology reading program and even created the domain to solicit his Astrology reading program (Reference).

Robert Favour (real name F.R. van Gunst or Fred van Gunst) has written several Anti-Sai articles that have been published (in full) on the Ex-Baba domain. Robert Favour (who resides in Amsterdam, Netherlands) claimed to have been a follower of Sathya Sai Baba from 1997-1999 and claimed he had a clairaudient connection to Sathya Sai Baba that went wrong, which resulted in being possessed by “djins”. Now, Robert Favour works with trance mediums, psychic channelers and spiritual healers for “entity releasement”. Robert Favour believes that Mother Mira and Ammachi are genuine Avatars (i.e., divine incarnations).

Consequently, Robert Priddy bashed himself, his son and numerous other Ex-Devotees as belonging to the “lunatic fringe” seen in cults, ashrams and religious movements. Now that is funny!

These are the shameless equivocators & kooks who attempt to publicly portray themselves as being rational, scientific, logical and not given to superstitious beliefs (which couldn’t be further from the truth). Isn’t it strange (or is it?) that Robert Priddy bashes devotees for their “lunatic fringe” beliefs when he and his Anti-Sai associates suffer from the very same affliction?

Conny Larsson And Swami Brahmananda Saraswati

I recently discovered several pictures of Conny Larsson posing in front of pictures of Shankaracharya Swami Brahmananda Saraswati (the Guru of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi). It is shocking that Conny Larsson is promoting himself in association with Brahmananda Saraswati when he has taken a caustic and defamatory position against Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Needless to say, this information has been purposely suppressed by Conny Larsson.

The big questions are:

  • Why has Anti-Guru Larsson been posing in front of pictures of Shankaracharya Swami Brahmananda Saraswati for years when he is Anti-Maharishi Mahesh Yogi?
  • Is Anti-Guru Larsson now devoted to Shankaracharya Swami Brahmananda Saraswati?
  • Was Anti-Guru Larsson devoted to Shankaracharya Swami Brahmananda Saraswati while he was a Sai Devotee?
  • Why is Anti-Guru Larsson promoting his image along with Indian Gurus and Hindu Philosophy?

It is very perplexing that Conny Larsson publicly associates himself with Shankaracharya Swami Brahmananda Saraswati. After trashing and bashing Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Conny Larsson immediately sets himself up as a Wannabee Guru, leads “Master Classes”, initiates students with Vedic Mantras, teaches Meditation Classes, gives lectures and seminars on Spirituality and plays the role of a Psychic Healer. Conny Larsson is also deeply involved with the mission of the Joga Harmonia website (notice all the pictures and comments dedicated to him). Strange enough, the Joga Harmonia founder and teachers are all deeply devoted to Swami Brahmananda Saraswati. Conny Larsson’s continued association with Indian Gurus (even after his defection from Sai Baba) only serves to highlight the fact that he is deeply conflicted, duplicitous and equivocal (something I have been pointing out for years).
