How Sathya Sai Baba Saved Dr. Hislop From Calamity

How Sathya Sai Baba Saved Dr. Hislop From Calamity

Dr. John Hislop shares this stunning personal experience, where Sathya Sai Baba out of His grace intervened to save his life, in his book “My Baba and I”:

One evening in 1973, we left Brindavan about 8 p.m. to return to Bangalore. There were five of us in the taxi, plus the driver. The Bangalore road has only two lanes. Some miles from Brindavan we overtook a bus. Although the driver of our taxi saw some lights ahead. He estimated there was plenty of time to pass the bus. He could not have been more mistaken – the lights ahead were of a car moving at a very high speed towards us.

At this point in time and space, the simple action of passing a bus had escalated into a situation of terrifying potential, that of a fatal head-on collision.

In this particular area, the layout of the road was also deadly. The road was under repair, and there was a high bank of dirt and rocks covering the side of the road. Thus, there was no possibility of the oncoming car being able to swerve off the road. We, too, could not take evasive action, for the bus was on our left and the road-repair material on our right, and by this time the oncoming car was directly in front of us. A foolish driver in that car and an equally foolish driver in our taxi!

Of course, at the time of the impending crash, there was no time for his analysis; the incident sort of exploded upon us without warning. The lights of the oncoming car now struck directly into the windscreen of our taxi. The cars could not have been more than a second or so apart. We were stunned. Not one of us recollected Baba or called him. We felt we were as good as dead, and we instinctively tensed for the crash. But at that very moment something happened that was without rational explanation.

At one moment the two cars were upon each other, about to be smashed in a fatal head-on collision. The very next moment, the oncoming car was behind us, and we were continuing to pass the bus with a clear road ahead. Looking backward, we could see the receding red tail lamp of the other car. There was no crash. There was no lapse of time; there had been no possibility of a last-moment manoeuver.

The next day we drove out to Brindavan as usual about 8 a.m. so as to be waiting on the veranda for Baba to appear for morning Darshan. As soon as He came into the room, I touched the Lotus Feet and said, “We want to thank Baba for saving our lives last night.”

Baba smiled and said, “Yes, that was a close one. You were so shocked that not even one of you called for Swami! But, Swami saved you anyway.” Then He turned to a group of men and in Telugu told them the entire story of the incident.

I then said, “Swami, you must have altered time and space in order to save us.” Baba just smiled and did not answer.

In 1978, I happened to meet Joe King, one of our fellow taxi passengers. It was in New York, where he lives. He asked, “Were you ever able to figure out what happened that time in the taxi?”

I smiled, shook my head, and said, “No.”

A Poem Inspired By Sri Sathya Sai Baba

A Poem Inspired By Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Dear Loved One,
You ask: How will you know when I am near you?

When on a sultry night
Everything is hot and still
The first cool breeze brushes your cheek
I am caressing you
Think of Me.

When the pangs of hunger are satisfied
and loneliness is pierced by happiness
Think of Me.

When your mouth is parched
and you can hardly speak
The first sip of cool water
I am soothing you
Think of Me.

When the cloud of death disappears
first on the opening of a baby’s smiling eyes
Think of Me.

When I sprinkle your face with rain
and wash the earth, the dry brown leaves
The first smell of clean rain
I am cleansing you
Think of Me.

When pain dissolves
and fear disappears
Think of Me.

When steadfast eyes are horrified
by the cruelties of life
The first glances of the silent setting sun
I am comforting you
Think of Me.

Then you ask how will you know when you are near me?

When the burning sun has scorched you and the earth
The sand and dust fill your eyes
Not a silver of shade about
And you love Me.

When loneliness is accompanied by hunger
and not one can be satisfied
And you love Me.

When your lips are cracked
your tongue feels like clay
your throat seals up
There is no water about
Not even a mirage in sight
And you love Me.

When you hold a dying child
with eyes pleading
And you love Me.

When you stir the ocean to a crescent
You flounder in its depth like a leaf
And you love Me.

When i take from you your most
cherished possessions
On the first loss of your sight
darkness envelopes you
And you love Me.

For everything you see, hear, smell, taste or touch belongs to Me. So how can you give to Me what I already have but your love? And that I gave to you before time began as your sole possession. When you return it to Me, then will I know you are truly Mine and I will dissolve your sorrow and happiness into Me.

That….being Me, I will place you in bliss forever. for, I love and think of you constantly.

From your most loving Father

Indian Skeptic, Rationalist And Atheist Endorses Psychic Trance Medium

Basava Premanand - Indian Skeptic Rationalist Atheist Vouches For Integrity Of Psychic Trance Medium Conny Larsson

Basava Premanand - Indian Skeptic Rationalist Atheist Vouches For Integrity Of Psychic Medium Conny Larsson

Indian Skeptic, Rationalist And Atheist Promotes Psychic Trance Medium
In an amusing twist of events, Basava Premanand (a fanatic rationalist, skeptic, atheist and decades-long Sai Baba critic) published a book for Conny Larsson entitled “Behind The Clown’s Mask”, which was highly critical of the Indian guru Sri Sathya Sai Baba (Ref).

Attempting to sling mud at Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Basava Premanand blindly published and widely solicited a book for Conny Larsson, a man who openly claims to be:

  1. A bisexual; meaning he engages in heterosexual and homosexual sex (which Conny Larsson publicly divulged on the internet and in various Swedish newspapers).
  2. An internationally renown psychic trance medium for the spirit of Vyasa (Refs: 0102).
  3. An internationally renown psychic who can contact dead people, see dead people and hear dead people’s voices in his head (Refs: 010203).
  4. An internationally renown psychic trance healer (Refs: 010203).
  5. And pet psychic who can contact the spirits of deceased pets (Ref).
  6. A yoga instructor (an internet claim).
  7. A person who conducts (and charges for) private trance healing sessions in which a Spirit Guide helps him to diagnose problems with his clients (Ref).
  8. A meditation master (Ref).
  9. A person who teaches others (and charges for) a nine-step meditation program in which students advance from lower steps to higher ones using the TM (Transcendental Meditation) technique that he learned from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (Ref).
  10. A Vedic mantra acharya (Refs: 0102).
  11. A person who charges people money to diagnose their illnesses and diseases by using a crystal pendulum (Ref).
  12. A person who teaches people how to use crystal pendulums (Ref).
  13. A person who charges people money to unblock their chakras (Ref).
  14. A person who teaches people how to “diagnose” blockages in auras (Ref).
  15. A person who claims that body piercing affect acupuncture and meridian points and are harmful on the “cellular level” (Ref).
  16. A post-Sai Baba disciple of Shankaracharya Swami Brahmananda Saraswati (Ref).
  17. A person who claims to have 10,000 devotees / students (Ref).
  18. A person who conducts trance healing “seances” (Ref).
  19. A person who is on the Swedish board for Neal Donald Walsh’s “Humanity Team”. Neal Donald Walsh has written and published many books with his alleged and inspired “conversations with God” (Ref).
  20. A former professional actor in Sweden popularly remembered as the clown “Beppo” (wouldn’t those acting skills come in handy for a convincing portrayal of oneself as a psychic medium?).
  21. A psychotherapist (presenting himself as an authority figure who understands human emotions and thought-processes and thereby may influence and manipulate others into believing his psychic claims).
  22. A person who warns his audience against “charlatans” who charge large sums of money although he typically grosses US $1,400 in admission fees only and charges US $72 (per person) for individual psychic readings and US $58 (per person) for weekend meditation sessions (Ref).
  23. A person who adamantly refuses to submit himself to scientific observation or testing for confirmation of his alleged psychic abilities.

Since Basava Premanand blindly believes any and all material opposing Sathya Sai Baba, he apparently failed to conduct a remedial background search on Conny Larsson, a self-professed Psychic Medium. Needless to say, Basava Premanand believed in, endorsed, published and widely solicited Conny Larsson’s Anti-Sai-Baba book. Taking it a step further, Basava Premanand published material pertaining to Psychic Conny Larsson in his Indian Skeptic magazine and even sent copies of Conny Larsson’s book to various high-ranking Indian officials and his rationalist subscribers. Too funny! A skeptic and atheist vouching for the integrity, honesty and credibility of a self-professed psychic trance medium! It doesn’t get much nuttier than this, folks.

Of course, Basava Premanand’s nutty behavior is not surprising. Premanand is a malicious libeler who cares less for the truth and cares more for his agendas of smearing, slurring and defaming.

Basava Premanand Believes Psychics Are Con-Men, Liars And Frauds
Basava Premanand firmly believes (or so he says) that so-called healers, trance channelers, psychics, psychic healers, spirit mediums, mantra acharyas, crystal healers, etc. (all of which Conny Larsson claims to be), are con-men, liars and frauds deceiving others for fame and fortune (Ref). Therefore, Basava Premanand made the case that Conny Larsson is a con-man, liar and fraud deceiving others for fame and fortune. Thank you Mr. Basava Premanand.

As a matter of fact, Basava Premanand will offer Rs. 100,000/-Rs to any person who can demonstrate any type of psychic, supernatural or paranormal ability under his direct observation (Ref). Did Basava Premanand confirm Conny Larsson’s psychic powers? If not (he never claimed he did in his Indian Skeptic tabloid), then why did Basava Premanand deem Conny Larsson so credible, so honest and so convincing that he published a book for him? Does it have to do with the fact that Conny Larsson is a self-professed multi-millionaire (Ref)?

Needless to say, Basava Premanand’s association with Conny Larsson reflects badly on his so-called “rationalism”, “skepticism” and “atheism”. It appears that Basava Premanand is a pseudo-rationalist, pseudo-skeptic and pseudo-atheist who is willing to compromise his pseudo-scientific beliefs by publishing a book by a psychic trance medium who claims that the immortal rishi Vyasa speaks through him. If Premanand believes psychics are con-men, liars and frauds, then what makes Conny Larsson’s claims against Sathya Sai Baba any more credible than his claims of being a psychic trance channeler?

Basava Premanand is an Anti-Sai loon and clown who attempts to portray himself as a “rational” voice against superstition. Needless to say, even Ex-Devotees refuse to say one word about Conny Larsson’s psychic and cult-like claims. The truth is now out and there is no stopping it.

How Sathya Sai Baba Brought A Necklace From Lord Rama’s Time

How Sathya Sai Baba Brought A Necklace From Lord Rama’s Time

Sri G V Subba Rao, a distinguished diplomat who retired as the Head of the Energy Division in the United Nations, shares this fascinating event that he was privileged to witness when he was with Sathya Sai Baba in Kodaikanal a few years ago:

Baba often advises devotees not to be fascinated by the miraculous manifestation of material objects but to concentrate on the spiritual power behind the creation.

Baba, in Kodaikanal, while relating the glorious story of Hanuman’s devotion, materialised a most dazzling necklace of 1O8 large shining pearls and stated that this was the necklace that mother Sita gifted to Hanuman at the Coronation of Sri Rama. But Hanuman’s devotion and concentration on the Lord was so one-pointed that he bit the pearls in order to see Lord Rama’s image in them but failing to find it, threw away the priceless chain as useless. Hanuman’s attention was not on the necklace but on his Lord and Master.

Baba held aloft the necklace and showed it around. I could clearly see the teeth marks on some of the pearls and even the image of Hanuman’s face in the pearls!

Swami’s miracles transcend time and space, and his miracles are like calling cards – like tickets of entry into the realm of the Divine Caller or Creator…

Once when I remarked to Swami that He is Siddha Sankalpa Purusha, Swami immediately corrected me and said He is Sankalpa Siddha. He stated that Siddha Sankalpa refers to the powers of Siddha Purusha (enlightened being) with acquired – and therefore, depletable Yogic powers whereas Sankalpa Siddha signifies the state “mere WILLING IS FULFILLING”!

Swami’s miraculous powers are the most natural and spontaneous manifestations of His love and grace to the devotees.

RadioSai Announcement

Greetings Dear listeners,

Here is an important announcement.

It is an ancient indian tradition going back to Vedic times, that when a person has lived through a thousand full moons, his children honour the person through appropriate and time-honoured ceremonies, that express gratitude to the Lord for blessing their elder with a long and glorious life.

What does one do, when the blessed Lord Himself, who created not only the entire universe but also all of us, comes in human form and enters the 83rd year of his advent, completing 1000 appearances of the full moon, a moon that He has Himself created? That landmark event would occur this November, when our beloved Swami enters the 83rd year of His advent.

Clearly something very special and unique is called for, since we are dealing with the Lord Himself. Recognising this, devotees of our beloved Swami are planning to celebrate this unique event in a grand manner by conducting a special function lasting many days.

This sacred program, would not only give expression to our adoration for Bhagavan but also offer special prayers for the well-being of entire humanity and for world peace.

The program would commence on the morning of Saturday, the 15th of November, 2008 and culminate on Monday, the 17th of November with Poorna Ahuti. Vedic scholars from all over India would be participating in the ceremonies.

As a prelude to all this, talks on the sacred Srimad Bhagavatham, the comprehensive story of the Lord as recorded in ancient scriptures, would be delivered every day for one full week, starting from 10th November.

Dear devotees, this is not only a once-in-a-lifetime occasion for all of us, but indeed for this entire Kali Yuga.

When else would we get the chance to witness such a unique and landmark event, and celebrate divine glory in the divine presence, expressing our limitless gratitude to the Lord and praying to Him directly for peace and harmony in a world that so badly needs them?

Start planning your trip now. Make sure you are here during this momentous event, have Bhagavan’s darshan, receive His blessings, and share in the limitless joy of the occasion.

Formal announcements concerning this function are already up in the official website of the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation but even so we here in radio sai thought we would bring the news about this momentous event directly to you and in person via the radio.

Please bring all this to the attention of those who might not yet be aware of this function.

RadioSai: Sept 20th – 22nd 2008 Updates:

Monday, September 22, 2008: Materials for distribution like sewing machines, sprayers, bicycles, carpentry kits and so on were arrayed in Sai Kulwant hall this evening. The devotees from Medak had arranged for these items to be given to deserving needy people. Bhagawan arrived as the Vedam tutorial went on, and once He came onstage, the class came to a close and Prof. Anil Kumar took the stage to introduce the distribution function. In his speech, he mentioned a young bread-winner who had a second lease of life in the Super Speciality Hospital here. Bhagawan called up the young man and blessed him with a chain. By 5.20, the distribution of items came to a close, and a music programme was arranged. Half an hour of popular Telugu songs followed. Swami accepted Arati at six o’clock before returning to His residence.

Sunday, September 21, 2008: Devotees from the Medak district of Andhra Pradesh were ready with a drama this evening. Bhagawan arrived in Sai Kulwant Hall welcomed by Nadaswaram players as the Vedam tutorial went on, at 4.30 pm. After He came onstage and the Vedam concluded, the devotees brought up many items to be blessed by Bhagawan. After fifteen minutes of interaction with Swami, the drama began at five o’clock. The musical entitled ‘Sai Rama Nauka’ depicted Sai ideals being put in action by people in villages, encouraged by the example of their boatman. Bhagawan came down from the stage for group photographs after the forty minute performance. He then asked for their music programme, so the artistes came up and readied themselves while Swami went into the interview room for a few minutes. At six o’clock, Swami returned to the stage and started the music programme. Fifteen minutes later, He accepted Arati and returned to His residence.

Saturday, September 20, 2008: This evening, Bhagawan arrived during the Vedam tutorial at 4.30 pm. After His darshan round, He came onstage, and in a few minutes, the class for the day concluded. Swami asked the two singers who were teaching the Vedam to sing the bhajan ‘Ram Hare Hari Nam Bolo’ with aalaap standing onstage. After that, He asked an Iranian student of the Primary School to chant the Rudram. After blessing the boy, Swami came into the Bhajan Hall for Bhajans to commence at 5.45 pm. After a couple of Bhajans, Swami asked for the ‘Mohabbat ki kami’ quawwali and as it concluded, left for His residence accepting Arati.

Masalila Rallies Batswana To Donate Blood, Save Lives

Masalila Rallies Batswana To Donate Blood, Save Lives
By Potso Thari

FRANCISTOWN – Botswana is in great need of donated blood, says the Assistant Minister of Local Government.

Speaking at the Global Blood Donation Camp day organised by the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation in Francistown over the weekend, Mr Ambrose Masalila said according to the Botswana National Blood Transfusion Service (BNBTS), the country needs about 40 000 units of blood per year but collects only half of that amount per year, which is not adequate.

He said it is also disheartening that just one per cent of the people donate blood annually while about 80 per cent may need blood at some time.

Mr Masalila said it was for this reason that the Sri Sathya Sai Organisation should be applauded for having continued to run these kinds of camps for the past 19 years saying they have been donating blood selflessly for a long time.

He said this is a selfless effort as the organisations and individual donors neither know the recipients of such blood nor the recipients ever know the donor, but that has not stopped them from donating blood.

He said as donated blood is used for various situations, at times critical, it was important for every eligible blood donor to register with the Sri Sathya and the BNBTS to donate blood to save lives.

Mr Masalila said donating blood is a safe measure and no diseases can be transmitted as only new and sterile disposable equipment is used for each donation.

Therefore all those eligible should donate and meet the country’s Vision 2016 pillar of “a compassionate, just and caring nation”.

He further said donating blood was in line with the President’s road map of the four Ds of Development, Democracy, Dignity and Discipline. He said:

“The act of donation of blood supports all these Ds because in a democracy people should practice the act of ‘give’ and ‘take’ which happens when a donor gives blood and a receipt receives it. For development to take place, people should be healthy and for an anaemic patient to feel fully healthy and dignified they need a pinch of blood.

“As for discipline, we can only commit to donate blood regularly if we are disciplined and committed to the exercise”.

The Camp Coordinator, Dr Viera Sayana said about 90 per cent of the blood they collect from the camps was used in hospitals. He appealed to eligible donors to always donate blood as this will save the lives of others.

He also said they usually get more than 100 pints of blood from the camp. It would be nice if more people donate blood. He said contrary to what people might think, donating blood was a healthy exercise. BOPA

Sathya Sai Baba Reveals His Omniscience To The Rani Of Chincholi

Sathya Sai Baba Reveals His Omniscience To The Rani Of Chincholi

The Raja of Chincholi was a very ardent devotee of Shirdi Baba. Baba used to spend a few months every year at Shirdi, Akalkot and other holy places in the company of Siddhas and Sadhakas (holy men). After the passing away of the Raja, the Rani (queen) was pleasantly surprised to hear of the incarnation of the Lord as Sri Sathya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi and she visited the place.

She prayed to Bhagawan who was just fifteen years of age at that time to accompany her to Chincholi and Hyderabad. What a surprise it was for her, when Baba on arriving at the palace, asked her about a Margosa tree that had stood Shirdi Sai had visited them, a well that had been filled up, a line of shops that had been newly built. Baba told her that He had seen the places years ago while ‘in His previous body!’

Sathya Sai Baba asked her about a small stone image of Anjaneya which had been given to the Raja while in the previous body; the Rani did not know that it existed; Baba himself discovered it for her! He also said that there must also be found a picture of Sai Baba and that too was later discovered in the house.

Three years ago, the Rani had been rummaging the huge store-room at Chincholi for old brass, bronze or copper which she could sell off and save space when she came upon a brass ‘Kamandalu’, a drinking vessel used by Sadhus, whose shape was quaint and artistic. The water has to be poured through a slit in the handle and the spout ends in a cow’s-head figurine!

Some one suggested that it could be polished and displayed as a decorative article in the drawing room of her Hyderabad House. The mystery of the Kamandalu deepened next day when they found a cobra coiled round it! “Baba alone can solve the secret,” she said to herself, while propitiating the cobra with the traditional Puja (worship).

She arrived at Puttaparthi on the first day of Dasara, and as soon as she entered the premises, Baba sent word, asking her to come up, “with my drinking vessel”!

As soon as the Kamandalu was in His Hands He showed some devotees standing nearby the letters inscribed on the vessel in Devanagari characters, ‘S A A’ followed by a pair of short vertical lines, ‘B A A’ with the two lines again. ‘SAA’ indicating Sayi and ‘BAA’ for Baba!

Readers may wonder how the saint of Shirdi who, according to all accounts, never left Shirdi for years, could have gone to Chincholi and Hyderabad, and left a Kamandalu with the Raja. But, devotees who have seen and experienced the Avatar of Sri Sathya Sai Baba will have no difficulty on this score. In fact, it is the honest belief of the Rani as well as some old servants of the Palace that Sai Baba stayed a few days every time He came and that He used to ride in a Tonga drawn by bullocks far out of the town, in order to have talks with the Raja who accompanied Him.

This Tonga is now at Prasanthi Nilayam and is on display at the Chaitanya Jyothi Museum.
