A Wax Lingam Miracle Or Gullibility?

Keeping in tune with my previous article about Robert Priddy’s gullibility when he was a Sai Devotee, I found the following “wax lingam” story in Priddy’s Pro-Sai book entitled “Source Of The Dream”:

“While compiling an extensive index of Baba’s words, Reidun and I were reading the texts and making notes daily. One evening, tired after a strenuous day, we felt like dropping it, but recalling Baba’s call to duty and self-discipline, we carried on with the work. The candle on our shrine must have burnt so low that we over-looked it when we retired for the night. The next morning, to our great perplexity, we saw that a small, green and perfectly-formed Shiva lingam, about one and a half centimeters in height, had formed from the candlewax. It must have dripped from the candle as the flame fradually sank and gutted out. The lingam was of tapering shape and even had ring-like markings, as seen in some Shiva temples. This was evidently a leela, because wax never ordinarily drips that way.My son Kai was intrigued and tried to work out the physics of it, coming up with the explanation that it could have formed by gradually smaller drips as the flame sank. Two weeks later a candle in his own flat also produced a lingam of the same size and color. However, the wax would have had to drip four times the distance in that case, which makes the physics of it incomprehensible. Perhaps the lingams were not formed by the drips at all? How the two lingams were of the same shade of green is also inexplicable. Incidentally, Kai had previously worked tirelessly on preparing a data program for making the index.” (Source Of The Dream, ‘The Universal World Teacher’, pg. 211-12)

Indeed, the green wax lingam that formed on Robert Priddy’s candle-holder is unique and I have never seen dripping wax produce that type of shape before. The objective facts of the matter are that the lingam was made out of candle-wax and formed at the base of a candle holder that held a burning candle the night before it formed. Being unable to explain away the wax lingam, Robert Priddy intelligently, logically and rationally speculated (sarcasm implied) that perhaps the wax lingam was some sort of divine manifestation independent of the candle and its drippings.

Since it is Robert Priddy’s current belief that Sathya Sai Baba is a fraud, his Sai-Devotee speculations were indicative of his gulliblity, ‘true-believer’ state-of-mind, naivete and “backward intellectually” beliefs. However, the strange thing about it all is that Robert Priddy currently believes that Sathya Sai Baba does possess genuine paranormal powers, is psychically sensitive and can materialize apports.

Some of the reasons why Robert Priddy believes these things is because Sathya Sai Baba cured him of a debilitating and chronic neck and spinal problem that no one else could cure and whose symptoms no doctor could alleviate. Robert Priddy also claimed that Sathya Sai Baba’s freed his mother from chronic pain and that a small speck of Sathya Sai Baba’s vibuthi instantaneously cured his paralyzed cat when it suffered from what appeared to be a stroke.

Robert Priddy tries to make the case that Sathya Sai Baba is both a fraud and genuine, can materialize objects and fakes materializations and can cure diseases but really can’t. Trying to pass himself off as an intellectual who currently holds rationalistic beliefs, Robert Priddy miserably fails to explain away the enigma of Sathya Sai Baba, appears very confused and non-intelligent and ends up sticking his foot further into his mouth with his never-ending and very amusing equivocations.

Robert Priddy Flip-Flops About Online Anonymity

Robert Priddy is a hypocritical equivocator who can’t make up his mind whether or not anonymous online identities are good or bad. Robert Priddy has no problem when he disperses numerous slurs, defamations, accusations, stories, “testimonies”, hearsay accounts, rumors, gossip and allegations from people who are completely anonymous on his Anti-Sai websites. However, when it comes to anonymous Sai Baba Proponents, Robert Priddy gnashes his teeth, foams at the mouth and raises a huge cry about how anonymity is a shield for “cowardly creatures hiding under a stone” and for people lacking “personal integrity”. Let us take a look at a few comments made by Robert Priddy about anonymity and anonymous online identities:

“Daren’t you put your name to your abusive comments. I see you are using different anonymous IPs – registered in Texas, but you are in UK I know. You got my mail and I reckon it stings to hear the truth.Perhaps you can explain why Sai Baba lied outright about me… that I do this for money, and that I am ‘jealous’ Ha ha!! You see, I KNOW he is a liar.I was never disgruntled because of lack of attention – I had enough interviews and after I learned what he is really up (you know well what I mean!) to I would not want to go near him under any circumstances!

Pitiful that you haven’t the courage to stand forth like a man! So much for your personal integrity! Of course, your comments to WordPress will never be posted… unless you should come to your senses.

Robert Priddy” (Reference)

“Surnames and locations, if you please! I want to know who wrote this e-mail and takes full responsibility for it. If none of you dare so much even as to stand forth personally, you will be below contempt for the whole world of decent people out here. You still try to hide in anonymity behind an alleged ‘group’. In this way you still flaunt your ingenuousness and show that you have no understanding of how smears by nameless people affect the big world out here. So this is a big test for you. Come on, don’t be chicken-livered… full and controllable identities of every one of you… and no false names among them, mind you.”

“We are upright and not afraid, like you, Linda whoever you are… for you dare not even give your proper full name like all the many cowardly and cheap slanderers from the Sai camp (but your IP is from Australia). “

“You sign you e-mail ‘support group’. In other words, an anonymous sender. Whether you are one person or a group, I wonder why you are unable to sign your name(s)? You may reply with full names and addresses, otherwise you will only prove to us that you are cowardly creatures hiding under a stone. “

However, when Robert Priddy used the anonymous online identity of “Lisa demoniser” on QuickTopic (Reference), not only did he attack a Sai Proponent anonymously, he defended the right of people to post anonymously on the internet! Robert Priddy said:

“You do not recognise the right of anonymity on the internet when it is to protect against demonisers like you claim to be! If anonymous posters are cowardly, then millions are cowards.” (Reference)

Of course, Robert Priddy’s comments directly contradict his former position that anonymous posters are “cowardly creatures hiding under a stone” and are people who lack “personal integrity”. Apparently, when Robert Priddy is posting under fake names and under the guise of anonymity, he thinks he is perfectly entitled to do so without being a “cowardly creature” or compromising his “personal integrity”.

Robert Priddy attempted to create an anonymous website attacking me on AngelTowns2 (Reference), but I recognized the folder name and easily identified him as the webmaster. Robert Priddy even attempted to post anonymously on Digg.com as “truthpromoter” and only divulged his name after I exposed his identity there. Robert Priddy posted anonymously on the QuickTopic forum using the names “Lisa demoniser” and “bandbox” (Reference).

However, Robert Priddy is not the only Anti-Sai Activist caught posting under multiple, fake and anonymous identities. Reinier Van Der Sandt posted under multiple fake names on the SathyaSaiBaba2 Yahoo Group and was forced to concede that he had engaged in dishonest behavior (Refs: 0102). Robert Priddy, Sanjay Dadlani, Tony O’Clery, Barbara Dent and UsedByBaba collectively posted under 90+ fake identities on QuickTopic (even using the names of Pro-Sai Activists, including my name: Reference).

You will not find even one single reprimand or apology from Robert Priddy about the proven fake names and anonymous posts made by Anti-Sai Activists. This proves that Robert Priddy is a hypocrite and a biased and bitter extremist who cannot reconcile his precept with practice. All Robert Priddy can do is blindly accuse others of “libel”, “dirty tricks” and “ad hominem” attacks without referencing or sourcing his comments to anything factual or verifiable.

Robert Priddy And Laurens Van Der Post

Just how gullible was Robert Priddy when he was a Sai Devotee for 17-26 years? The answer is very gullible. For example, Robert Priddy published (in his book “Source Of The Dream”) the following scans to Laurens Van Der Post’s “The Night Of The New Moon” book-cover and claimed that one could easily discern the form of Sathya Sai Baba in them.

Notice how Robert Priddy enhanced the color on the edited scan and had to carefully shape Baba’s hair from the clouds? I looked long and hard at the images and cannot see Sathya Sai Baba in them. I suppose if one were desperate enough, one could see Sathya Sai Baba in the clouds (no matter how vague the perception). However, these scans show how gullible, naive and “backward intellectually” Robert Priddy was when he was a Sai Devotee.

About the alleged form of Sathya Sai Baba on the book-cover, Robert Priddy said:

“A second leela, which we felt was a form of recognition by Baba for our carrying out regular study of his teachings, occurred similarly one evening when we plodded on with our reading, even though we were very tired. My eye was suddenly drawn to the form of Sathya Sai in the clouds of an evening sky on the front cover of a book that I had recently read. The book is a deeply spiritual account of the life and death in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp by Laurens van der Post, titled Night of the Moon. It is curious, too, that the night of the new moon is known in India as the night of Shiva. The figure of Sai, leaning forward as if to dispense vibuthi, can be figured out from the background.” (Source Of The Dream, ‘The Universal World Teacher’, pg 212)

Robert Priddy was one of those gullible, naive, “ignorami”, “backward intellectually” and “ignorant peasants” when he was a Sai Devotee for 17 years who believed in Avatars, lilas, divine manifestations, gnomes, trolls, fairies, possessing demons, elves, UFOs, extra-terrestials, leprechauns and elementals. Robert Priddy is bitter and vindictive because he fully documented his own gullible, naive, brainwashed and non-intelligent devotee behavior in his Pro-Sai book for the world to see! What’s even more funny is how Robert Priddy bashes Sai Devotees for acting and believing in the very same manner he did when he was a Sai Devotee. Laughable!

Guruphiliac Jody Radzik Meets Guru-Ratings Sarlo

Jody Radzik (owner of the Guruphiliac Blog) and Sarlo (owner of the Guru-Ratings WebSite And Yahoo Group) are friends, often praise each other on their own webpages and have taken a strong position against Sathya Sai Baba. For starters, Sarlo (who, for some mysterious reason, does not divulge his full name) is a Rajneesh / Osho devotee (and refers to him as “my Master”), started his spiritual journey (and had a decade-long love affair) with LSD and marijuana (Reference) and refers to himself as “Swami Deva Sarlo” (claiming he is a “master”, initiate and a “god”). “Swami” means ‘master’ (a title usually conferred on initiates belonging to the Osho cult) and “deva” means ‘god’, ‘angel’ or ‘divine being’.

Like Jody, Sarlo believes that he is self-realized. As a matter of fact, in an article entitled “Sarlo Declares Enlightenment”, he said:

Guru-Ratings Sarlo: “According to Osho, one of the biggest obstacles to enlightenment is peer-group jealousy. One’s friends will simply not accept that this trippy asshole has arrived at the ultimate fulfillment while they languish in darkness. I am prepared to meet this challenge head-on. The courage to brave my friends’ scorn has been bolstered by: a) the knowledge, from Phil 101, that you don’t exist; b) end-of-millennium urgency; c) the discovery of ordinariness as a way out/cover-up; d) any or all of the above.&#8221 (Reference)

Sarlo is also a contact for an Osho-related center in Canada:

Osho Samaroha Meditation Center,
Ma Dhyan Amiyo
3676 W. 38th Ave.
Vancouver V6N 2Y2 BC
Tel.: +1-604-261-5312 (which resolves to “Gaile P. Winterton”)
E-Mail: sarlo@globalserve.net

I was told that Guru Ratings Sarlo’s first name is “Don” and that he hails from Ontario Canada. There are two entries for “Don Sarlo” from Ontario listed in Canada’s white-pages:

Sarlo, Don
Route 5th
Cookstown, ON L0L 1L0
Tel.: +1-705-435-3158

Sarlo, Don
8 Eastern
Sault Sainte Marie, ON P6A 4R1
Tel.: +1-705-759-4808

One should rightly wonder why Rajneesh/Osho is listed on Sarlo’s subjective Guru-Ratings website as being one of the greatest Gurus ever to walk the Earth. I think there are many people who would take issue with such a claim. As a matter of fact, many people already have (Refs: 01020304050607).

Sarlo praised Jody’s Guruphiliac Blog as a “worthy project” and that he puts “the humourous bite on the usual guru excesses: money, sex, and power”. Ironically, Rajneesh’s excesses in money, sex and power are unparalleled in Gurudom (remember the 93 Rolls Royces?). Needless to say, Sarlo ignores the faults and failings of Osho (his “Master”) and ranks him as one of the greatest Gurus ever to walk the planet. Sarlo then has the audacity to point his self-righteous fingers at other Gurus and whine, snivel and lament about their faults and failings. Funny enough, Sarlo created a disclaimer page where he admitted that his bogus Guru-Ratings service is based on the subjective opinions of a layman (Reference).

So what did Jody Radzik have to say about Rajneesh/Osho? On his Guruphiliac Blog, Jody said:

Guruphliac Jody Radzik: “A tip of our tantric hat to Osho for his attempts to sustain such a large chakra-puja. Such wide scale transgression was certain to result in all kinds of transformation in the participants…But he had management problems and it all fell apart. We’re sorry we missed the fun.” (Reference)

Jody Radzik praised Osho’s sexual excesses as a large “chakra puja” (which is a tantric ritual that involves two to ten couples who engage in ritualized sexual activities, aka “an orgy”), dismissed Osho’s many faults and failings as “management problems” and expressed regret that he missed the fun! That’s right, sexual promiscuity, power-abuse, wealth and hedonism are things that Jody Radzik and Sarlo think are laudable, praiseworthy and serve as valid criteria to give high-ranking marks to Gurus whose feet they happen to kiss and adore. It is amusing that Jody and Sarlo both profess devotion to Gurus, yet trash and bash other Gurus as if they are free from the Guru-affliction they love to point out in others. Pathetic.

Robert Priddy Bashes Hindus And Hinduism Again

Robert Priddy wrote an article entitled “How can so many Indians be fooled so much of the time?”, in which he mentioned various stories in the Ramayana and Srimad Bhagavatam and bashed them as being believed by people who are naive, gullible, “backward intellectually” and “ignorant peasants”. Not only did Robert Priddy bash Hindus, Hinduism and their scriptures, he is currently making many slurs (although Barry Pittard boasted ex-devotees do not slur: Ref) against his former Guru whose feet he kissed and worshipped as God Incarnate for 17-26 years.

Even in his Pro-Sai book (“Source Of The Dream”) Priddy published several pictures of his altar upon which he displayed at least two pictures of Sathya Sai Baba’s lotus feet, a large and small picture of Sathya Sai Baba, an image of Sri Ganesha and a picture of Shirdi Sai Baba all surrounded with flowers, peacock feathers, sea shells, flowery containers and a power quartz crystal! See the following images for proof:

Click On Thumbnails To View Full Sized Images

Robert Priddy found Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings to be so inspirational, he compiled an online index of 18,000 separately detailed entries named “Back To The Source”. As a matter of fact, Robert Priddy had the following to say about Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings:

“It is truly impressive how, wherever Sathya Sai Baba has spoken and whatever his audience, his vision has always had a one-pointed focus…Unlike other major educators or spiritual masters whose lives are known from youth, Sai Baba has never had to modify any tenets of his public teachings or to develop them through time. Such confident consistency is truly striking.…Baba’s way of teaching is unique and uncommonly attractive, in its dealings with everything from everyday problems to the deeply mysterious, from the most serious questions of life to the humorous. No one to my knowledge gives such directly simple, yet deceptively deep and subtle, answers to the most enigmatic of questions, nor does so in more straightforward and powerfully-convincing ways than does Baba…No spiritually-interested person who reads Sai discourses or writings can fail to be impressed by the clarity and simplicity of these teachings, which bear comparison with any known higher spiritual teaching…Some insights surpass those to be found in any scripture or comparable work known, at least, to the present writer…”

In Source of the Dream, Robert Priddy even hailed Baba as the Universal Teacher whose advent was prophesized in the Bible, the Mahabharata and the Ocean Of Light. That’s right, Robert Priddy cited the Mahabharata as a source to support his belief that Sathya Sai Baba’s advent was prophesized thousands of years ago. Consequently, Robert Priddy continually bashes himself as having been a naive, gullible and “backwardly intellectually” “ignorant peasant” when he was a Sai Devotee (although he devoted an entire chapter in his book claiming he was not brainwashed, was still skeptical and did not follow blindly).

Strange enough, Robert Priddy loves to bash and trash Sanjay Dadlani‘s beliefs in the Ramayana and the Srimad Bhagavatam (thereby conceding that fellow Anti-Sai Activsts are naive, gullible, “backward intellectually” and “ignorant peasants”: Ref). It is also amusing that many critics and ex-devotees of Sathya Sai Baba possess the very same type of beliefs that Robert Priddy loves to ridicule in Sai Devotees. See my article: ‘Lunatic Fringe’ In Cults, Ashrams And Religious Movements.

The more Robert Priddy says, the further he sticks his foot into his mouth. While attempting to mock Sathya Sai Baba, Sai Devotees and Sai Baba’s teachings for their oh-so-obvious fraudulence, naievete and outrageous claims, Robert Priddy fails to realize that he is thoroughly compromising the integrity, intelligence and rationality of himself and other ex-devotees who belonged to (for many years) the very same group he now condemns as naive, gullible, “backward intellectually” “ignorant peasants”. Now that’s funny!

Blessed by Baba

Blessed By Baba
Kumkum Chadha, Hindustan Times
June 15, 2007

The gold-studded green stone turns white; a necklace is lost and found; and medical advice to implant a pacemaker is defied. All because of the Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, of whom politician-turned-Governor-turned-politician Motilal Vora is an ardent devotee.

‘Vorajee’ as he is popularly known, sings paeans of the ‘Baba’ and advocates his being a one-man formula for inner peace. Vora, then UP Governor, met Baba for the first time through a Chief Minister who would often land up in the state and use the Raj Bhawan as a transit point because he believed that UP was a ‘land of astrologers’. On one such visit, the Chief Minister told Vora about how Baba had transformed his life and coaxed him to meet him. Vora did and with that began an unending spiritual journey.

Today he is a die-hard believer. The incident of his ‘green ring turning white’ still gives him goose-pimples. It was during a routine visit to the Raj Bhawan in Lucknow that the Baba suddenly swung his hand in the air and produced ‘vibhuti’ (sacred ash). What Vora was not prepared for was the Baba sprinkling the ash on his favourite green ring. “Within minutes, it changed from green to white,” recalls Vora flashing his index finger on which he has worn the stone ever since.

The ‘necklace episode’ was dramatically different and is interpreted by Vora as a ‘test case’ by Baba to see if the Voras were careful with wishes that he bestowed on them. “He gave my wife a necklace with an ‘Om’ pendant. By the time we reached the car, it was missing. Panic gripped. We searched everywhere but with no luck. A silent prayer to Baba, and lo and behold, it was on my wife’s neck. It was Baba’s way of testing if we take care of what he gives us.”

Years later when he was hospitalised with an ailing heart, doctors advised him to implant a pace-maker. Vora was adamant. No pacemaker till Baba allows it. When he took a flight to Puttaparthi, the doctors thought Vora had actually lost his mind. But a wave of the hand and a fistful of vibhuti smeared over his heart proved the doctors wrong. “It has been 15 years and my heart beats without a pacemaker.”

Born in Rajasthan and growing up in Madhya Pradesh, Vora acquired the ‘Hindi belt habit’ of chewing paan and consuming tobacco when very young. His habits worsened in UP because during Governor’s Rule, Raj Bhawan was the obvious haunt of journalists, most of them being paan-chewing and tobacco-consuming people. When colleague Shiela Kaul got him a betel plant, he thought the best way to cut expenses was to plant paan plants on the Raj Bhawan lawns.

Raj Bhawan is also where he swore an ecstatic Mayawati in as Chief Minister for the first time. “When I invited her to form the government, her first reaction was to call ‘maanyaver’.” In other words her mentor, Kanshi Ram, Vora explains.

Barry Pittard said the following about James Redmond:

“Sai Baba’s Official Videographer Shoots Frauds in Secret.I may add that James Redmond has told a number of us former followers of Sai Baba he has various film footage in which it is clear that Sai Baba is faking miraculous materializations. However, after satisfying himself first hand of the truth of accounts that Sai Baba has long been a serial sexual molester of boys and young men, James Redmond, informing a small number of former Sai Baba devotee activists – among whom were the late Glen Meloy of Palm Desert California and me – of what he was doing, continued to film Sai Baba. Now primed precisely to train his cameras on Sai Baba’s sleight-of-hand tricks when ostensibly materializing objects, Redmond obtained ever more damning footage. After a few months, James Redmond sent out a letter to the large mailing list for his videos, mentioning convincing first-hand reports to him of Sai Baba’s sexual molestation of boys and young men and associated frauds as reasons for ceasing his attachment to Sai Baba.”

I emailed James Redmond on August 2nd 2005 and asked him:

“I came across an article written by Barry Pittard in which he said you were no longer a devotee of Sathya Sai Baba and that you believe that Sai is a pedophile and/or homosexual. Would you characterize these as being accurate statements?”

James Redmond tersely responded to my email and said that Barry’s statements about him were not accurate. However, in light of Barry Pittard’s recent posts about James Redmond I emailed him again and he has not responded.

Barry Pittard made mention to a letter that James Redmond sent to a “large mailing list” and claimed that Redmond mentioned “convincing first-hand reports to him of Sai Baba’s sexual molestation of boys and young men and associated frauds as reasons for ceasing his attachment to Sai Baba”. Needless to say, Barry Pittard’s comments are gutter fabrications and blatant exaggerations of known facts. James Redmond released the following letter on September 30th 2000 and ended it with a “Sai Ram” (a phrase typically uttered by Sai Devotees) and did not mention anything about “convincing first-hand reports to him of Sai Baba’s sexual molestation of boys and young men”. The only reference that Redmond made to the allegations was about “unusual experiences of young men with Sai Baba that are now circulating”. See for yourself:

The Video Education Company
Specializing in Professional Videos about Sathya Sai Baba

September 30, 2000

Dear Devotees,

After 12 years of making professional videotapes on and about Sathya Sai Baba, I have decided to close our office that distributes these videos. I’ve very much enjoyed doing all the audio and video recordings at the special events in India and at various Sai Retreats that I’ve been invited to in various countries around the world. Now, I believe, it is time for me to move on.

The Video Education Company will close its door on Nov. 30, 2000!

I’ve decided to close our office for several reasons:

The birth of my son Benjamin. Now my spare time is devoted to my family. I don’t have the extra time like I used to, to work for income and then do long hours of editing Sai related videos.

Over the past years I’ve been fortunate that I’ve always had other business going on that would support the Sai related videos. At times those businesses provided offices, phones, secretaries, and other staff at no charge to the video business. Now that those businesses are gone I now need to devote my working time to producing an income for my growing family.

The Sai related video business has not been totally self-sufficient. Over the past 12 years, it has not paid me a salary to work on these videos. Now that income is a priority for me, I need to drop those things that are not income producing. Also, it costs me to keep the doors open with a part time staff member, rent, utilities, etc.

The sales of Sai related videos have been going down, not up. This is due to several possible reasons: devotees are not as interested in Sai Baba recent discourses; and/or since a large number of other discourses are readily available the newer ones are not that popular; and/or some devotees copy the videos we produce.

Some devotees owe us for tapes that we shipped. Over the years, we’ve used the honor system with shipping out videos. Unfortunately this has not always worked.

The final reason that I’ve decided to close the office is because of the unusual experiences of young men with Sai Baba that are now circulating.

We’re having a closing sale on all videos, audio & CD’s.
Before it’s too late, you can save up to 50%.

We have inventory of a lot of the vidoes, some of the audio cassettes, and some of the CD’s. We will substantially discount these to move them out. It’s going to be first come, first serve. Once we’re done with a particular tape, that’s it! We will not duplicate more tapes. We don’t know if you will be able to get these videos in the future. If you want to make sure that you have a particular tape or set of tapes, now is the time to stock up. Remember some tapes, we only have a few of. Those that order first get them.

If you order 2 to 5 videos save 20%, 6 to 9 videos save 30%, 10 to 19 videos save 40%, 20 or more videos save 50%. To qualify for this discount you must pay when you order.

These special discounts also apply to CD’s and audio cassettes as separate categories not to be combined with other categories (such as video tapes). To qualify for this discount you must pay when you order. If you order 2 to 5 CD’s, you save 20%, if you order 6 to 9 CD’s, you save 30%, if you order 10 to 19 CD’s, you save 40% and if you order 20 or more CD’s, you save 50%!

We have 1 new video from July 16, 2000, the Guru Poornima Discourse.

Last year I was able to work out with the ashram officials the permission to be able to videotape in India. From my understanding, I am one of a few individuals that have this priviledge. I went in July and now have edited the Guru Poornima Discourse.

I also want to thank all of you that have offered words of encouragement and support and have been loyal customers over the years. You have been great! Now is the time for me to move on…

All the best and Sai Ram, James Redmond

For some mysterious reason, the saivideos.com website was continuing to sell Sai Videos (through the “Video Education Company”) on the internet until April 2004, almost four years after James Redmond allegedly closed down his video store (Refs: 010203). At the bottom of the referenced links, one will notice the pages state they were last modified on March 6th 2004 (meaning that the website was active and was being updated up to March 6th 2004).

The reason why James Redmond stayed in business for four years after allegedly closing down his Sai Videos store was one of subterfuge. Barry Pittard explicitly stated that James Redmond defected from Sai Baba but secretly stayed on with the intent to capture acts of fraudulent manifestations on film:

“…after satisfying himself first hand of the truth of accounts that Sai Baba has long been a serial sexual molester of boys and young men, James Redmond, informing a small number of former Sai Baba devotee activists…of what he was doing, continued to film Sai Baba. Now primed precisely to train his cameras on Sai Baba’s sleight-of-hand tricks when ostensibly materializing objects, Redmond obtained ever more damning footage.”

Strangely enough, Barry Pittard fully believes that Sathya Sai Baba possesses genuine paranormal powers. See my article entitled Shanti McIvor, Baba Slings, Sai Isa & Sathya Sai Baba’s Genuine Paranormal Powers.

Needless to say, to date no reputable organizations specializing in fraud have confirmed any acts of fraud in any videos relating to Sathya Sai Baba. Erlendur Haraldsson took one such video (where it was alleged that Sathya Sai Baba could clearly be seen “faking” a materialization) to a company specializing in corporate fraud and the verdict showed no firm evidence of fraud. As a matter of fact, Haraldsson wrote (cited from his book “Miracles Are My Visiting Cards: An Investigative Report on Psychic Phenomena Associated with Sathya Sai Baba”; ISBN: 8186822321):

“The quality and resolution of the tape leaves much to be desired and limits the inferences that can be drawn from it. Dr. Wiseman took the videotape to a company which specialises in investigating corporate fraud. This company posesses some of the world’s best equipment designed to enhance poor quality videotape. The technician kindly offered to enhance the videotape in question. The videotape was run thorugh a real time Snell & Wilcox Kudos Noise Reducer. The machine carries out three operations. First, it removes via recursive filters the random noise on the tape caused by repeated copying. Second, it improves the graininess of the video by median filters and finally enhances any edges on the the video through edge enhancement filters. After all this the video is certainly easier to watch, and did not contain much of the random noise present on the copy provided by the Deccan Chronicle. However, the resulting tape still did not reveal further information about the incident. In short, the reason for Sai Baba’s hand movements still appears unclear and is open for various interpretations, but the tape contained no firm evidence of fraud. The company also analysed several still frames taken from the video. These were scanned into a computer and run through an Improve image processing system (developed by the Home Office in Britain). Again, the images were enhanced via median filters and certain areas of the frames were enlarged. The resulting photographs show the crucial moment as Sai Baba’s hands touch under the memento, but do not reveal any further information…”

Therefore, despite the rants and ravings from Anti-Sai Activists, they simply cannot argue with the results of the analysis. The allegation of trickery in this GuruBusters video is completely unfounded. Why haven’t ex-devotees and James Redmond taken their alleged videos to companies specializing in fraud and have them independently back up their claims of deceit, sleight-of-hand and magic against Sai Baba?

Further strengthening the case that Barry Pittard’s claims about James Redmond are true, the fact that Mr. Redmond purchased and registered the domain name alayarahm.com is highly indicative that James Redmond is associated with the Anti-Sai Movement. The alayarahm.com index page simply states:

The background image states “Manifest Entertainment” and the background image is named “cd face copy”.

Alaya Rahm was an alleged sexual abuse victim who made his accounts known through various media. However, much has been purposely suppressed about Alaya Rahm, including his claim that Sathya Sai Baba miraculously transformed his genitals from male to female twice. Alaya Rahm also wrote a love poem to Sathya Sai Baba after allegedly being sexually abused dozens of times. Alaya Rahm attempted to sue the Sathya Sai Baba Society and self-dismissed his own lawsuit after Lewis Kreydick (a witness Alaya Rahm himself named in “Response To Form Interrogatories”) came forward and refuted all of his claims. Lewis Kreydick testified in a video deposition that Alaya Rahm and James Redmond were together at Kodaikanal in 1998/1999 to see Sathya Sai Baba. According to Kreydick, James Redmond was there with his fiancee to have their marriage blessed by Sai Baba. Sathya Sai Baba did not bless Redmond’s marriage and both he and his fiancee were very disappointed (Refs: 01). Shortly after this time, the Rahm Family defected from Sai Baba and so did James Redmond (according to Barry Pittard).

All of this information highlights James Redmond’s deceit, dishonesty and subterfuge. While claiming to be a Sai Devotee (and speaking like a Sai Devotee), James Redmond was an Anti-Sai Activist who secretly allied himself with the Anti-Sai Movement and attempted to capture Sai Baba’s sleight-of-hand on film. He failed. After closing his Sai Video’s store in the year 2000, James Redmond was still selling Sai Videos on the internet (apparently trying to make a few quick bucks off unsuspecting Sai Devotees) up to April 2004. These are the type of individuals who are attempting to “expose” Sathya Sai Baba. The harder they try, the more egg ends up on their faces.
