ISTPALAKKAD: The Sathya Sai Music festival styled “Music for peace” held to mark the 83rd birthday celebration of the Sathya Sai Baba was inaugurated at the Government Music College here by danseuse Vineetha Nedungadi here on Saturday.
The festival began after noted musician Cherthala Dr Ranganatha Sarma lit the lamp. Government Music College principal Chethala S Dinesh performed the Guru pooja by garlanding the statue of Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar.
Sathya Sai Seva organisations district president A.M.Prabhakaran presided over the meet. Cash awards were also presented to the winners of the essay competition, chess championships and carnatic music concerts conducted by the Sathya Sai Seva organisations on the occasion.
